I just went outside and forcefully said, "interloper, your water is mine" to a weed before yanking it from my planter box.
I've been playing lots of Dune: Awakening. Perhaps, too much?

I'd forgotten to connect. I'd tipped head-on into consuming. Books, movies, television - my headspace is a garden of thoughts reaching away from the sun. I don't know where to go to survive, so I'll noodle to this on a Friday night and declutter. open.spotify.com/album/0m2z3F...
I don't know why, but I just love the weird flex of a clean fridge on a Sunday.
Kimbap for dinner, 7 Days to Die for fun, and a gummy for sanity,
One of my toxic traits is that I never leave enough room in the bowl π₯£ to toss the salad.
All the recent talk about the new #Nosferatu movie reminds me how incredible it was to see the original silent film with the Club Foot Orchestra playing live. Their soundtrack for it is phenomenal. buff.ly/3DNFjUI
My birthday plans include - finishing my current read and making a dent in my next, eating something tasty, and kissing the kitties on their cute lil noggins until they give me the ' enough' look. It's really perfect. Don't judge π π π π
Finally, getting around to cracking open an Apple+ TV sub and watching so many shows I've waited to see is my holiday gift to myself. That, and reading more books. One more season of Ted Lasso to go, and 2 more books to try to finish before 2025.
I'm feeling like a hacker! With gentle guidance from a friend, I just created a bootable flash, cloned my C drive onto a new SSD, removed the old C drive, added another SSD, edited partition tables, and expanded the new C drive volume, and it worked! I'm so 733t!
A tsunami warning definitely was not on my 2024 bingo card.
If this isn't your favourite song by the Misfits, then what is?
a collapsing of the tongue that worms into the eyes, the spine
an incantation of invitation and a warning.
midnight thoughts for the lost
tepid, dead finger taps at the window
someone, somewhere, in a sometime long ago
an articulation of knuckles that beckon
the breaking of teeth on my hammering heart,
the perfect constellation of shimmering lies
trembling palms, opening flat to the pane
Please tell me I am not the only one who takes a mental health and wellness day to clean out their freezer and attempt to wash the bedding between cat naps (literallyβthey are sleeping, and I do not want to wake them).
I am laughing at the French translation. Like, I want to go out and yell that at people who look like they voted a certain way. It just sounds like an insult. Glad the crisps taste good though!
"I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other." ~The Creature, from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus
Current reads - trying to finish The Sun Down Motel first, along with House of Glass on audiobook, then the other two before the loans run out. I am learning to find audiobooks that work for me (most don't) and how to juggle more than one book when I am on a timer (not well, but it is what it is).
Hi again. Reminder: I am Jenn. I like books, plants, cats, movies, spooky stuff, true crime, video games, and the idea of people. I'm weird, kind, compassionate, and passionate, and I am making my way through life as a late-diagnosed ADHD adult. I also like civil and human rights, ya know?
In this week of absolute bullshit, the silver lining was being called 'astute' by someone from the legal team at work.

I am grateful for this vessel that, even tethered, carries me across roadmaps, hands as tiny stars, and eyes - two eclipsed alien moons exploring the infinite.
It's heartbreaking to see more game studio closures and layoffs, especially within big companies with profits enough to give out giant bonuses to those who are the farthest away from the worlds that devs put their hearts in.
This weekend will be a practice in self-care and friendship. Wine, cheese, laughs, and some reading, writing, and music listening.
I love that Baldur's Gate 3 has demystified what "nat 20" means for the masses.
I'm trying hard not to be triggered by the successes of people who treated me poorly and, instead, focus my disappointment on those who knowingly supported those abusers to their successes.
Today, I worked a full day, made enchiladas, polish cabbage rolls, and took a bunch of weeds to ho town. Who wants to wife me?
