I use Nord VPN -- it's up to 10 devices for the single membership and has an app for phones/tablets. I have my laptop and phone as well as mom's laptop and phone all hooked up. It's really really easy to set up and I'm more than happy to help if you run into shenanigans. (nordvpn.com)

In short:
Get a (good) VPN. Use it on your laptop, your cell phone, your tablet. Even if you have nothing to hide, your privacy is precious and not easily clawed back.
Consume news from the wire services and from outside of the US bubble. No outlet is perfect, but we can do better than corporate media.
