On the other hand, my reading glasses broke today and I really have trouble seeing without them so I think the universe is giving me mixed signals (also please excuse any typos, I'm really counting on autocorrect here).
Received a rejection to a writing opportunity I was really hoping for. In retrospect it's actually something of a good thing as I feel I was mentally painting myself into a literary corner and it was stifling my motivation to write. So I think the universe gave me a sign.

I am currently stuck on a plane sitting on the tarmac in Thunder Bay for 2 hours while they wait to see if the freezing rain clears. My caffeine reserves are low and I've finished my book. Hell has come for me.
The advantage of having to travel for work is having time to dig into some amazing books while I wait for/on trains and planes.
I am very much looking forward to getting a copy of this when it comes out.
It started strong, but kind of devolved into a mishmash of 'remember this?' moments.

This is still my advice: Become a writer anyway. Fuck it, do it, it won't save you, but it's still a beautiful dream to write novels and short stories and poems and mingle with other dreamers and make art and laugh in the face of death. And writing is constant death. Live más.
