McDonalds is terrible. However, In-N-Out is pretty damn good for the price. I say this as a lifelong East coaster.

It helps to bifurcate burgers into two categories. A "hamburger stand" burger where it's flat, greasy, and goes down easy. The second category is "restaurant burger" where you might need a knife and fork.

I had L5, severe herniation. After the one night in the hospital I felt good as new. Took it easy for about a week, made sure to walk about 16 short blocks each day. The following week I had to go back to college and did all my classes standing. I think I went back to my office job 2 wks after that.
