What an utter delight the Pragmata demo is
The Gonska boss fight in Octopath O is absolutely brilliant in the way it forces you to think outside the box. The strategy you've honed on all bosses (in the series!) will make the fight 100x harder for you. I died a few times, and then the way to win hit me like a lightning bolt. Great moment.
I've only ever seen ITMFL myself but have had Chungking Express on my TBW list for ages. Need to keep an eye out for a copy

Yasunori Nishiki deserves to be in the conversation for best post-Uematsu JRPG composers. He's been killing it for a decade now. In games in which his contribution could easily be overshadowed by the art or battle system, it always shines.
I've only been to a handful of towns in Octopath 0, but I feel like Team Asano has really nailed the "memorable JRPG town" aspect of their game. It's doing things with lighting and color to help them all feel distinct and alive. And path action mechanic means lengthy, memorable visits to new towns.

24. Crow Country
Another absolute gem from last year, Crow Country is an incredible take on the Survival Horror genre, the weird atmosphere and visuals are magnificent, the puzzles are downright terrific, and if you're not a fan of combat you can play in an exploration mode. It's a masterpiece.
15. Demonschool
Speaking of games I gotta finish, Demonschool is incredibly stylish, has some real fun characters, and turn-based combat that kinda feels like Into The Breach, but the music... my god the music!
12. Absolum
Want a seriously awesome side-scrolling beat-em-up that's kinda like a modern Golden Axe? And you can play as a FROG WIZARD!? And the first boss of Act 1 has a theme song composed by MICK GORDON!? Oh my god this game rules!
9. Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
God I love this game, absolute joy from the first minute, describing itself as the first "Yoyovania" and it's apt, all your movement and combat abilities, as well as key abilities to progress, are focused around the yoyo. It gets surprisingly challenging too!
7. Sorry We're Closed
Beautiful and surreal and extremely queer Survival Horror game that has some truly wondrous worldbuilding, some great puzzle mechanics, and excellent characters, I loved this one and hope you will too!
4. Promise Mascot Agency
I think this game would've been much bigger if it hadn't dropped the same day as Blue Prince, but if you've not heard about it, it's an extremely fun management sim mixed with open world driving, loads of delightful characters and a fantastic little Kei truck.

Cream of rice. God-tier texture. Very customizable flavor.
To my fellow oldtaku:
Itβs not that anime is worse overall now. Thereβs just so much being made at once that itβs harder to find the good stuff. Itβs worth trying, though! Some of the best shows Iβve ever seen have been in the last five years!
This was previously Switch only, which sucked because I really didn't want it on that platform. So PS5 physical release is very good for me.
Easily my favorite game from last year, highly recommend this if you haven't played it yet.
according to the liberation newspaper, documents dating back to a 2014 inspection by the French National Agency for the Security of Computer Systems reported a staggering detail: "the password of the louvre's video surveillance server was simply " louvre. "
