Got to see the Lycurgus cup today, as a colloidal scientist to say I was excited may have been an understatement.
The cup has silver and gold nanoparticles embedded in the glass which gives it its unique coloring, and has probably been on many intro to colloids ppt slides.

Had some fun at #nwochains this year. 🌞 Presenting a poster and discussing with researchers in chemistry definitely offered some new perspectives. It was also great to catch up with some friends from the PhD.
