like I honestly think that a lot of generational trauma could be interrupted by simply having awareness of it. understand how you were traumatized as a child and then make an effort to not do the same to your kid. but wayyyy too many parents lack the awareness to do even that and it’s a problem

it seems like most boomer parents have at some point thought the fallacy:
“there is no way that i was a bad parent, bc MY parents were wayyy meaner to ME”
