Dock with Harbour Master's House and various turnbine bits, including windfarm jackets and transition pieces
More windfarm jackets, turbine shafts, and transition pieces on the dockside, next to the Harbour Master's House. These rae the ones you can see from East Claremont Street, I think.

barge carrying windfarm jacket and transition pieces behind small lighthouse
Hua Yang Long, carrying a windfarm jacket and transition pieces from Lighthouse Park, Leith, Edinburgh. See @spurtle.bsky.social for more www.broughtonspurtle.org.uk/news/towerin...
Since this was taken two of the three jackets have been moved off the ship and along the dock; we can see them from the New Town.

Sister ship to the Hua Sheng Long who was taking transition pieces to and fro in January? (From Lighthouse Park)
A lot of interest in @spurtle.bsky.social's latest piece via this morning's newsletter. So far the most-read of the month by far.

With windfarm jackets AND transition pieces. Can't wait to take a closer look. Or even just an offline one!
Oh I know! Maybe instead of "no real reason" I should have said "no ethical reason"
The reason is because he's in the pockets of fossil fuel producers, which renewables are a threat to
Huge effort here against the wind farms mostly because of the views being "ruined" for the owners of multimillion-dollar mansions (& tourists). Some worries about wildlife & impacts on fishing, but climate change might be a bigger threat. Trump keeps trying to stop construction for no real reason.
It's not surprising we've forgotten this is what shipbuilding areas used to look like - a famous example being Wallsend, River Tyne.
Awe-inspiring scale. Here, there are mixed reactions: disquiet at appearance (turbines and pylons) in wild landscapes; concern for seabirds; varying degrees of optimism about transition from fossil fuels and creation of new jobs. Very few natives own links golf courses with 'ruined' prospects.
I have been seeing a lot of surreal windmill-building ships in my area on the other side of the ocean, too. We're all getting very into learning about what they all do
Psycho house?
Is that sunshine in Leith that I see?

We stay in Leith, so they're unavoidable - wouldn't be surprised if they were visible from space!
Aha, I've seen these from the Lammermuirs and was wondering what it was.

The rats in the illustration look like they wouldn't make terrible neighbours. I'm not overly keen on the smoking, and I suspect they might drop bits of burger on the sofa, but the throw looks as though it's washed regularly and the smoke probably won't get beyond their own front door.
