Wow, I hadn't heard of any of this.
I, like you, live in hope.
This won't get nearly enough attention, but A++ TO YOU GOOD SIR.
A Reductress post features a photo of Kristi Noem with the headline, “Kristi Noem Put Down for Being Too Hard to Train”

Me too.
I feel like Dunbier is one of the BTS people whose work in the industry hasn't been appreciated enough publicly.
I'm biased, because I love OG WildStorm, the Artist Edition stuff is great, AND because Bloom County is one of my all-time favorite works.
I feel like a lot of people missed out on Dark Patterns due to the Absolute line, and they're going to be coming back to it in trade for a long, long time.
That's a new Batman perennial, right there.
As someone who grew up reading a lot of his works, it's been a bit of a learning curve the last couple days.
But yes, you are correct.
I have nothing but love for Civ.
Enjoy.
After Jason Lee opened a camera shop in Eagle Rock, I thought, man, that'd be a fun story to do. I did not know that it would eventually lead to him threatening to take me to court. For @defector.com, the whole bloody affair:

Yupyup.
I've spent a good while reading up on Dan Simmons tonight, and I'm having to process that a lot of his work was more Islamophobic/racist than I thought.
But I think the post below is how I'll walk away from all this.
Cheers, Mr. McDiarmid, whoever you are.

Those of us who found Hyperion to be a transformative work (Gen-X'rs like me, I suspect) who also recognized that he went off the deep end post-9/11, are struggling with realizing that his pre-9/11 works are often problematic as well.
It's a bit tough, but we're working on it.
I would share it, to be honest.
I know that's not fair to ask, given I'm a rando who just came across your post, but I think it's important for people to hear.
But if not - I understand. I'm having conflicting thoughts on DS and his passing as well.
I was looking forward to these episodes, but was really excited by how good they were.
Very excited about this, and hope it gets several seasons.
My heart is broken a little bit.
Like many others, HYPERION introduced me to - and blew my mind with - science-fiction. That book/series was SO good.
That said, Simmons lost it big-time post-9/11, and it showed.
I hope he's at peace now.

A fucking brilliant writer whose brain was eaten alive by 9/11, which qualifies as a tragedy.
That is a very, very difficult read.
Yessssssss.
I can't wait.
Ugh.
(And thanks).
I hard about the solicits, but I hadn't heard about the podcast.
I was living in hope.
Thanks for the info - much appreciated.
Where was this announced online? I'm really bummed - I loved what they were doing.
Live together, or die alone.
Is it official that they cancelled it?
Dr. Anna Peppard examines the history of Carol Danvers' costumes and Marvel's current obsession with miniseries that put its women back in more dated looks.
This is a genuinely terrible idea which would damage the night sky & thus our ability to explore space (& also to just have, y'know, darkness & uncluttered skies), & would drastically increase the likelihood of catastrophic cascading collisions of various human-made space objects (Kessler Syndrome).
Love that you're doing this.
I look forward to the results.
