I don’t know the story behind the decision to end their partnership, but I think it’s a shame that Turkish Airlines, which sponsors basketball leagues, foreign soccer teams, now even a tennis tournament in Mexico, decided not to support the career of the best Turkish tennis player we have ever seen.

After falling asleep last night during Zeynep’s match, my first words this morning were “I’ve been watching this sport for more than 30 years! I have waited so long for this and now I’m too old to stay awake???”
Apparently, the country’s flag carrier didn’t think this is what they were waiting for.

A lot of people on the Turkish internet had written Zeynep off after she signed a deal with THY (to be clear, they write her off after every loss too, and they are pathetic in general, and I don’t care about their opinions) but I see significantly fewer comments on the ending of the sponsorship.
