Giving this thoughtful kid some more exposure ...as we happen to be traveling in Austrailia this month.
My happy place, thank you!
New in my blog: Dave Farber died Saturday. He didn’t invent the Internet: his students had a big part in it. But Farber DID invent distributed computing, and he was a friend of mine. go.thisistrue.com/farber1
I think this is the best HU I’ve read, and I’ve been reading them for a very long time. Great job, Randy!
Another #PismoBeach photo for #OrangeSun day. Taken one week ago. For the photography geeks, taken with a Nikon Z7ii, Nikkor 24-120 f4 S lens, f22, 1/160 second, iso 1000
Yeah, I’m a Topaz fan myself. Not so much for signs, though ;)
OK, it’s not entirely yellow, but I’m counting it for #YellowThu. Pismo Beach, California, about ten days ago. #Photography #Surfing #Beaches
Wave 👋
I like them both! Different viewpoints of the same subject
View of Half Dome and El Capitan with the supermoon overhead
Yeah, I did 😁 #supermoon #Yosemite
A lake reflecting the mountains behind it, bathed in golden light
The mountains are calling and I really really really wanna go! It’ll have to wait till next season, though. In the meantime, I have photos to lose myself in. Soldier Lake, Sequoia NP #MountainMonday #iPhonePhotography #Sequoia

What do you mean? You have ALREADY made a difference in the astronomy community through your photos, your words, and the excitement you convey RIGHT HERE! Don’t underestimate the value of that!
If it speaks to you emotionally, does it really matter what anyone else thinks? Personally, I think the sky is awesome!
Not too great - you have to hike to get there 😉 It’s 5.8 miles (9.3 km) from the trailhead to the lake where I took the photo. Location is 36.49866, -118.22135. It’s definitely worth the hike!

That view never gets old!
A very rocky trail winds on the steep side of Bishop's Peak. Green vegetation line each side of the trail. Cerro San Luis Obispo can be seen in the distance on a hazy day.
#Stunday!
The rocky trail on Bishop's Peak in San Luis Obispo. That is Cerro San Luis in the background. Both mountains are part of the Nine Sisters, a line of volcanic plugs.

Yep 😎
Gnarly live oak trees with a park bench under the huge branches
Yeah, I feel it too 😊
And coffee prices aren't about to spike in Canada due to tariffs. Yes, it's the Story of the Week from This is True's 1,602nd issue. Basic subscriptions free on the web site for new stories every week.
I love it, but what a waste of a Gran Torino!
Agree! #Pattern
Ohhh!!! Why haven’t I heard of this before??? Because I’m an idiot and haven’t kept up with you on MacMost.
The Moon as seen from Earth. That is, the side that we see from Earth.
The far side of the Moon. This side is not seen from Earth due to the Moon being tidally locked with Earth, meaning one side always faces us. It’s covered in many craters
the side of the Moon we see // the side we don’t:
