#TheBeauty TV show started off strong but went downhill as soon as Rebecca Hall got infected. Also the “beautified” version of her is played by an actress who’s not nearly as gorgeous as Rebecca. I know beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but I don’t know that casting did a good job there.

Love this for you. I daydream about hiring someone to do my cooking for me, but I enjoy house cleaning so much I’d never give it away to someone else.

The politicians responsible for war have changed over the years, but the false rationale the US uses to justify its wars remains the same.

Aww sorry that happened, but glad you could feel safe during the search. Also, thanks for coming to Regina! Your talk at Mackenzie was the highlight of my week!

Loved that interview too. There’s also an essay there of hers about the Brontë sisters. So fascinating.

That they’re not embarrassed to publicize that is kind of baffling too.

Reading about the proposed funding cuts to the art sector in Nova Scotia is reminding me of 2012 when Saskatchewan completely obliterated its film industry, which was booming at the time. How do these governments arrive at these obviously dumb decisions?

I’m always annoyed when the people I live with like a meal one night but frown when I make it again the following day. I attribute my ability to eat the same meal over and over to having gone to boarding school. I can eat rice and beans all week.

Right. I can appreciate writing that theorizes about human-computer interaction. I’m sure there’s a lot there to explore. If this is a workshop for people creating such work, it makes sense.

After seeing the US men’s team cozy up to a fascist and attend the State of the Union, I never want to see anyone tell an athlete who’s protesting racism or misogyny or homophobia to “shut up and stick to sports.”

An earlier post I saw mentioned one of the instructors was the author of “ten computer-generated books.” I don’t know how to take that other than on its face value. They’ve changed the program description on the socials but elsewhere in this man’s bio he’s proud of his computer generated books.

Watching Severance while nursing the cold from hell is making this weird show even more so. But I’ll be adding “devour feculence” to my list of favourite insults.
