Oh, that’s a lovely idea! My eldest is 3 and my youngest just turned 8 months old; when they know what December is I might start a similar tradition with them. Until then, I’ve decided to put a Christmas wreath on the door in November to rile up the “It’s too early.” crowd. I’ll wait with the tree.

The 29th is a good date. I’ll put a wreath on the door next weekend and see how I get on. I think you’re right that if something brings a person joy then why not!

Bah! Humbug! Once Halloween or Bonfire Night has passed (or Thanksgiving, for some), it feels like any day is fair game for Christmas decorations. Of course, it’s a personal preference, but with all the grey skies we’ve had here lately, a little festive cheer might do me some good. I’ll start small.
