In the meantime, here’s some more aromantic rep from some lovely authors whose books you should definitely check out!
Are there other books with aromantic on your tbr list? I’d love to hear about them!

It’s a queerplatonic love story with all my favorite romcom tropes (fake dating, academic rivals, secret online identities!), a FMC who’s asexual, a MMC who’s ace and aromantic, and is about unbreakable friendships that mean the world. It’s coming from Wednesday Books in early 2027!
Happy Aromantic Awareness Week! For my debut YA romance, I knew I wanted to include aromantic rep for one of the main characters. I’d never seen an aro love interest & wanted to explore what a love story could look like for an ace + aroace pairing. So Not Your Typical Love Story is just that.
IT’S HERE! 🎉
Congratulations to the 2026 Round Table Mentor mentees! Our mentors are SO excited to get started and will be personally reaching out to their chosen mentee via email to kick things off, so keep an eye on those inboxes!

So I keep thinking back to 2018 me who was about to move to NYC to see if this “publishing thing” would work. It certainly didn’t go the way I planned—*cough*2020*cough*—but it got me here, with a book that’s coming out in just over a year from a publisher 2018 me could only dream of debuting with.
Then Macmillan changed my life for a 2nd time when they bought my debut. I nearly died getting to intern with Wednesday, so I of course I nearly died all over again when my agent told me they were interested in my book. Absolute dream come true. I still can’t believe it.
which is where I got firsthand experience with commercial, hooky fiction at James Patterson’s children’s imprint with my fantastic team…all of which immensely influenced what became the book to land me my amazing agent and turned out to be my debut book.
7 years ago, Macmillan changed my life for the first time when I was offered an internship with Wednesday’s parent imprint, St. Martin’s Press.
I met so many wonderful editors at my Macmillan internship who taught me so much and helped me get my first actual publishing job…
Nothing in publishing (or life) is ever a straight path, but looking back, I can see the moments that led here even if I had no idea at the time.
So as we near the end of the year, I’ve been thinking back, & is particularly strange because come 2026, I’ll be able to say “my book is out next year!”
A white and blue poster that says, "MENTEE APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN NOW UNTIL NOV 21!". In the background are book graphics and at the bottom is a line that reads, "To apply, please visit: www.roundtablementor.com/apply."

This is so cool! Thanks for sharing!
Anyway, this is super cool and ever step continues to feel unreal because—although I may not have dreamed of a particular author photo—I’ve spent years dreaming (and working towards!) getting here, and it’s finally happening!
Thanks to Jacalyn Roland Photography for such wonderful pictures!

I didn’t have something in mind for an author photo that I’d always dreamed of. I’ve been so focused on editing, querying, editing some more, submission, editing AGAIN…that I kind of overlooked the other parts of the process that happen after you become a debut author.

Author photos are here and I’m taking a poll because how am I expected to choose?! So, which one is your favorite?
It’s strange to be at this stage in the process, because although I’ve spent years working towards being a published author, I never pictured this moment.

And keep an eye out on my social media because my editor sent me ✨two✨ galleys so there may be a giveaway in the future. 4/4

If you like YA romcoms with fake dating, rivals to lovers, aromantic AND asexual MCs, girls who are Too Much™️, boys who are “too soft,” or books that’ll make you laugh AND cry, you can add my debut on Goodreads—Not Your Typical Love Story is coming from @wednesdaybooks.bsky.social in 2027! 3/4
This book is finally almost REAL! That’s terrifying even though it’s something I’ve wanted for years. I spent many years not thinking I’d ever get here, but it’s really, truly happening. I couldn’t have asked for a better publishing team, and can’t wait until I get to share more about this book! 2/4
There are GALLEYS OF MY DEBUT!
The emotions I felt when I first held my book (and still feel every time I look at the galleys on my shelf) were…I don’t even know. A lot. A jumbled up mix of a whole freaking lot. 1/4

My debut will be out with Macmillan/Wednesday Books in early 2027!
Goodreads and StoryGraph 🔗s in my bio!
If you like smart ace girls who are Too Much™️ and quiet ace/aro neurodivergent boys who are “too soft,” stay tuned for more sneak peeks and other tidbits about the book—also ✨cover reveal✨ and preorder stuff coming in 2026! (Which really is just around the corner.)
My debut follows Analeigh and Drew, two academic rivals who end up fake dating—her because it’s her only shot at her musical theater dreams, and him because it’s his only shot at saving the friendship that means the world to him.
It’s Ace Week 💜🤍🩶🖤 and so I thought it would be appropriate to post a sneak peek from my ace/aro debut book, Not Your Typical Love Story, which centers aspec teens at the heart of their own kind of love story.

If you’re interested in applying, mentee applications open November 6-21! And keep an eye out for full mentor wishlists coming soon!
I left my job as a children’s book editor at LBYR just about three years ago and have missed working with authors. That was the best part of being an editor and was the hardest part to give up, so I’m excited to be able to work with a writer over the next few months to further develop their story.
contemporary, romance/romcom, or speculative fiction (light fantasy of very grounded sci-fi). And I’ve got a special place in my heart for any story with an asexual or aromantic MC.
Excited to be part of @roundtablementor.bsky.social 2025-2026 mentorship program with a fantastic group of other mentors! I’ll post my #MSWL soon, but in the meantime I’ll say that I’ll be looking for MG, YA, or NA with a focus on queer stories in the following genres…
Excited to be part of the 2025-2026 mentor group! Stay tuned for our MSWLs, coming soon!
