Have not read this whole piece yet but as someone who has a child who struggled to attend school as well as friends and partners who have gone through burnout, what i’ve read so far really resonates.

When Figo was little we let him out into our small back garden for his night time toilet break. As I collected his doings by flashlight I always used to sing 'Poo in the dark, and you're to blame/ You give pups a bad name' a la Bon Jovi. Kept me entertained at least.

I just noticed the postbox on our (London) street is β€˜GR’ rather than β€˜ER’ which means pre 1936

Funny how his first thought is β€˜she faked it’ - projecting much?

Love how the BBC news just did a quick β€˜cow scratches its own back with a broom’ story whilst we wait for Trump to turn up to his press conference.

So the markets are like AI - something created on a premise it will improve the world but now they are just thriving on all the worse bits of humanity and spitting them back to us

Theresa Villiers on Badenoch. Oddly I hope she's right but this is the latest in the Telegraph's 'Whisper it' series. The record of this series is not good.... (thread)

Its a really interesting rhetorical form isn't it - 'I'm going to let you, clever Telegraph reader, in on a little secret I can only share with you as the masses don't understand' - flattery mixed with wishful thinking and a dash of implicit elitism.

Sounds so amazing doesn’t it. One basic sample but the way they chop it up, throw in some weird sub bass, genius.

I really enjoyed this - not least as Matthew Macfadyen and Nick Offerman are excellent as ever but basically playing their characters from Succession and Parks & Recreation with historical beards and costumes.

14.11.2025 11:49 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I've been trying to work out specifically what made me dislike it so much and I think it is something to do with the mismatch between money spent (too much), what it thinks it is (art) and what it actually is (B movie but minus the camp)
