A few years ago, I found my long lost best friend through some brilliant sleuthing, by which I mean that I found her sister's Facebook page. Learned that the friend had changed her name and written a book, which I bought and read. Seemed like she was doing fine. I didn't reach out.

I guess the answer is that you don't.

I mean, I was able to determine that he's still alive, so that's something. And that's all I really need to know. But I still wish I could just say hi or something.

Out of the blue, I dreamt about an old flame from my college years. I haven't seen him since 1990, but every so often I get the urge to find out how he's doing—and I really can't. He has almost no presence on the Interwebz. How do you find people who are un-Google-able?
