Having worked on good governance my whole career, I'm honored to be the Preferred Candidate of @citizensunionny.bsky.social in District 39. For more than 125 years, they've been on the frontlines fighting corruption, increasing transparency & holding government accountable here in NYC.

Today we remember & honor the Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the rights & freedoms we too often take for granted. #MemorialDay2025

At NYU, I taught the historical roots of American political institutions & how xenophobia, racism, misogyny are baked into institutions & how we can harness the lessons of history to fight back. Now more than ever, we need to protect academic freedom on college campuses.

Happy Mother's Day to all who mother! This is my very first #MothersDay as a mom & I love being Liam's mom & being my mom's daughter. It's high time we truly celebrate mothers & all they do by enacting extended paid parental leave & creating universal free childcare!

Amazing meet & greet in Windsor Terrace last night! Impactful conversations about cutting through distractions & misinformation to focus on the local issues & unmet needs that are the core of this campaign. It's time to center empathy, resist divisiveness & deliver real results.

Fantastic meet & greet last night in Park Slope! From my time at the United Nations, teaching at NYU, & working at the Brennan Center, I've prioritized listening first & bringing people together—whether they agree with me or not. That's what I'll do as your next Council Member.

We're in a childcare crisis in NYC. Too many childcare providers get stuck in the permitting process. As a mom, I know we need more daycare seats & we need them now. That's why I'll fight for a fast track permitting system for credentialed providers opening new daycare centers.

I spent most of 2024 pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy due to a chronic auto-immune illness. Even with my access, I had to fight to get the care me and my baby needed. We need to do more to make sure every pregnant New Yorker can get the healthcare they need, no matter what.

Union labor is the backbone of a strong working class. This #InternationalWorkersDay, I'm proud to stand with the 250,000 @nycretirees.bsky.social fighting to save the healthcare benefits they've earned through decades of public sector union service. I will always stand with workers.

Today I joined (virtually) the Joint Memorial Day Service, organized by Combatants for Peace & The Parents Circle. This is my 10th year attending this powerful Israeli-Palestinian peace event. It centers the pain that war has brought to both sides of the conflict & the eternal power of hope.

This #YomHashoah, I’m remembering my grandparents who escaped Germany & Austria, but lost most of their extended families. My grandfather fled Germany after family members were murdered in Kristallnacht & my grandmother fled Vienna after family was taken to Dachau.

District 39 is home to a huge number of dog owners (& dogs!), yet there are just a few dog runs outside of Prospect Park. As we expand greenspace, we need to incorporate accessible & safe public dog runs in areas beyond walking distance of Prospect Park.

So great to come together with fellow NY-10 constituents for @danielsgoldman.dg4ny.co's town hall. Now more than ever it’s so crucial to foster open, honest dialogue & tonight was an example of that. As a Council Member, I’ll hold monthly in-person town halls throughout the district.

On this #EarthDay, I’m thinking about how crucial our parks & green spaces are. Our parks are part of what makes NYC great & all NYers deserve access to greenspace. That’s why we need to fully fund the Parks Department to 1% of the City budget to maintain & expand our parks.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate! It was great to join congregants at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Windsor Terrace for a lovely mass.

Democracy not oligarchy! So inspiring to join neighbors to make our voices heard and unite against Trump and Musk today in Gowanus. Plus it was Liam's first protest!!

If Trump has his way, today’s our last World Health Day as a member of the WHO. It's more important than ever that we shore up health funding at the city level, fully fund our Health+Hospital (H+H) system & ensure all New Yorkers have access to the care they need. #WorldHealthDay

I wholeheartedly support the City Council's push to add $800 million in funding for our public schools, including $280 million for early childhood education. It's crucial that we fully fund 3-K and expand access to childcare vouchers for working families!

Today our campaign filed nearly 3,500 signatures towards qualifying for the primary ballot. Thank you to everyone who stopped on the street to sign & our volunteers who collected rain or shine! Special thanks to CBID and @indbrooklyn.org!
