Hmm this was a bit disappointing.Tonally, it never really excelled in either being a rom or com. The dark ending felt unearned too

Now watching Your Monster
CMAT last night in Edinburgh was a really fun performance, felt like a party atmosphere
Platinum Trophy #196 Skate Story
A stunningly delirious take on Hell with bizarre characters and humour. Really enjoyed this despite the endgame trick grind

Ooft, I feel like a broken man after Bleed From Within pummeled Edinburgh into submission... bring on night two tomorrow! ๐ค
Now watching the Criterion release of The Fisher King
Well that was a bit doolally!
For a thriller, it had me laughing quite a lot. What the main character goes through is ridiculous but all self inflicted
Now watching the Spanish sci-fi thriller Timecrimes
Platinum Trophy #195: Plague Inc Evolved
An interesting virus simulator were the goal is to infected the world. Visually it grew stale very quickly but that would be down to it being a mobile port
I know thisnt a hot take, but the music score was maddening. Felt like they were torn between being a serious period drama or aping the modern styling of A Knights Tale
Set during one of histories most revolutionary times and yet we swap character exploration for flat line deliveries & anemic plotting.
Watched the 2006 film Marie Antoinette starring Kirsten Dunst tonight. This was a blind watch but I was aware of it not reviewing well on release. It was certainly pretty, but I was taken back by how dull the film was.
Really looking forward to the metal gigs coming my way this spring & summer...
So far on the cards I have:
Bleed From Within's Edinburgh shows
Hellripper's album launch
Kreator
Machine Head
Mystic Festival in Gdansk
Metallica in Cardiff (which could feasibly be the last time I see them)
This was a pleasant surprise. Despite a budget its very well shot: lots of long tracking shots and slow pans during monologues. Plus the cinematography was great. Plot wise, it reminded me a little of Pontypool since a lot of the dialogue infers to things offscreen
I came across this under rated Sci-fi list on facebook so.have decided to watch The Vast Of Night
This and Sttawberry Mansion were the only two i hadn't heard of so I might watch that next
Avatar bringing their freakshow to Glasgow's Barrowlands tonight
Enroute to Glasgow for Fozzy... well actually Tailgunner is the actual band i want to see
Saw "Wuthering Heights" tonight and came away disappointed. Im not familiar with the source material but Cathy and Heathcliff were insufferable, terrible people and their constant shagging was neither romantic or erotic. I wasn't bored though but I doubt I'd ever watch this again
That last shot was like a (tame) cannibal corpse album cover ๐ฌ
Now watching Robert Eggers' Nosferatu, missed it at the cinema so bought it on 4K
HotWax put on an awesome show in Edinburgh tonight, to think i was almost going to give it a miss ๐ฌ
Starting the day with Tailgunner's new album Midnight Blitz
It's worth bearing in mind that this game was a ball ache to get running on the PS5. I was Installing, deleting and reinstalling different packs to get the campaign to run. It was quite off putting
Just seen the last COD game I played was the original Black Ops back in 2010. So its definitely been a while ๐
Platinum Trophy 194: Call Of Duty Modern Warfare
Im not a huge fan of the series (I don't play much online games) but this retelling was an like an immersive action movie that kept me engaged for chapter to chapter. And despite being released in 2019 the graphics were still superperb.
Platinum Trophy 193:
Dragon Ball FighterZ
After weekly logins for points, I finally unlocked the 20,000,000 zeni points trophy for blistering time of 3 year and 4 months for completion
Platinum Trophy 192: The Beast Within
A fun conspiracy indie horror game that was great until the ending. I like the direction the story implied it was heading before the obvious reveal
Jinjer playing the SWG3 in Glasgow last night. Great to finally see them as a headliner. The crowd went nuts from the get go
Platinum Trophy 191: Oxide Room 104.
An intriguing indie horror game that was ultimately disappointing due to some atrocious voice acting and lack of challenge. At least it was cheap.
Went for a Japanese lunch via Raku in Leith, very filling and comforting
