Watching VARSITY BLUES & I’m reminded of what an incredible actor James Van Der Beek was. This film is a pure nostalgic shot in the heart for me. And that perfectly placed needle drop for My Hero. In the words of Mox, “Let’s be heroes.” An immeasurable loss, gone way too soon. RIP

THE RIP does in fact “rip” & incredibly well at that. I was locked in from the first frame. Of course, Affleck & Damon are great as is the rest of the cast. Clinton Shorter’s masterful score drives the tension perfectly. Carnahan’s assured direction & script are the real standout.
This looks really good & has me sold. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Started the New Year off right yesterday with a rewatch of Sinners.
#NowWatching SINNERS. Happy New Year! First movie of 2026 is a rewatch of my favorite movie of last year (feels weird to say). So many great films last year but this one stuck with me the most. Seeing it in IMAX was a truly mesmerizing theatrical experience.

FINALLY caught up with THE LONG WALK & I’m absolutely floored, this one hit hard. Incredible on every level. From the direction, to the acting to the phenomenal script by JT Mollner who wrote one of the best King adaptations. Cooper Hoffman & David Jonsson are phenomenal.

So, the secret is out. Tonight I will not be in the backyard, but outside the trailer crushing a few beers with Joe Bob & Darcy as we watch a terribly maligned film I hope to turn y'all on to the greatness of. Or just watch me get dunked on by Joe Bob. Both are fun! Such a huge honor! I'm chuffed!
Finally got to see NOBODY 2 & loved every frame. This one ups the action on every level while also keeping the comedic beats. Timo Tjahjanto brings his signature style & slick camera movements that elevates the action in ways only Timo can. The fight scene with the Offspring needle drop is perfect.
Netflix has confirmed that Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will debut in theaters this Thanksgiving weekend.
CAUGHT STEALING is a gritty, stylish, crime thriller that fully delivers & is extremely entertaining. Aronofsky is back in top form with razor-sharp direction while perfectly capturing the 90s NYC setting. It’s Austin Butler’s performance that anchors the chaos with real depth & emotion.
#Weapons is so incredibly good & one that’s had me thinking since I saw it. It’s unnerving, tense & suspenseful with some genuinely funny moments. Zach Cregger’s direction stands out with confidence, his visual style is just as sharp as his writing. Easily one of my favorite films of the year.
#NowWatching: WEAPONS. Extremely hyped for this one as I’m a huge fan of BARBARIAN. Probably one of my favorite horror movies in recent years coupled with a great theatrical experience. Hoping WEAPONS is as good as everyone is saying.
‘PREDATOR: BADLANDS’ officially follows a Predator and a Weyland-Yutani android teaming up.

Actually got a day off to catch up with a fantastic double feature. FINALLY watched HEART EYES & COMPANION & really liked both. The romcom nods mixed with a brutal slasher story & killer soundtrack works incredibly well in Heart Eyes. Companion is filled with great twists, turns & lead performances.
