What a night overall!

How? It's largely thought to be the opposite.

Will try to tune in, BJ. Growing up as a Seattle area teenager in the 90s, who didn't know Bob Rivers and Twisted Tunes? I am Santa Clause!

RIP Legend.

My first ever concert was NIN/Bowie in Oct '95 in Tacoma, WA, and concur it was one of the best days of my life. AND, this too will by my 11th time seeing NIN.

BTW I'm in the 3rd camp. Been using the same asthma maintenance inhaler for years, and new insurance company won't cover it. The "alternatives" gave me back pain, loss of voice, headaches, and now I'm on one that I can only take half dosage so my breathing isn't as good as before. But yay insurance!

And the uninsured? The "max benefit exceeded" folks? The "we no longer cover your asthma medication because it's too expensive, why don't you try these other ones that are cheaper but give you tons of reactions" folks? What say you?

Look, until we get a single payer system pooling every person from young and healthy to old and dying this is never going to be a great system. The current system is broken in many ways, and far too many people are either excluded completely or fatigued by having to fight it. End of my argument.

Who is paying UHC for that 6% net margin? What value did the insured get by paying out of pocket for that 6%? And how many were either denied care or limited in their claim to get them at 6%?

Why are you comparing a company profiting on healthcare vs a goods/services producing company on the S&P?

My Rx insurer just mailed me about my asthma medication. They will only cover me if I pre-buy 3 months of medication at a time, denying single month requests. They claim they're doing it to provide better service, but the only one it benefits is them, because it's cheaper for them.

That's entirely subjective, you're not going to trap me that easily. Is it possible to overconsume cancer treatment? Is it possible to overconsume doctor's visits for every sniffle?

Half a million medical bankruptcies per year would like a word with you.

17.12.2024 21:44 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Bingo. The greatest testament to this is whenever I travel ANYWHERE else in the world and need healthcare. I'm seen without asking for my insurance card, and more often than not I pay $0.

Only country on earth where the number of annual medical bankruptcies is > 0, and we have half a million yearly

"As someone who works in health"

Health..insurance?

Because if you're in healthcare you're an extreme minority of insurance defenders.

Tell us more about excessive profits, related to a publicly traded company that is beholden to increasing shareholder value.

What absolute bullshit. We aren't fighting because we're simply trying to live our lives. They argue that we don't drop our entire life to spend eternity fighting their backward system. To hell with them and the entire health insurance industry.

On the same day of his murder, BCBS announced they would not cover continuing anesthesia if a surgery took longer than they expect it to. And because of this incident it gained media exposure and they were forced to back down due to the backlash. So yeah, down with insurance running healthcare.

30% denied, far greater than any other major insurer and well above the industry average. In other words, unacceptable for insurance companies to be the main driver of healthcare.

17.12.2024 21:18 👍 8 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I don't find it acceptable as much as I don't find denying 30% of insurance claims acceptable, which is what I suspect most people are conveying by finding his murder "acceptable."

Got my 4 in the 300 corner for $100 each. It's a unique event I guess, and a noon game so the kid can go.

Don't condone murder, but I HOPE TO HELL this is a wakeup call to straighten out the US healthcare system.

The time of denying 30% of claims, not covering full anesthesia during surgery, and letting health insurance run healthcare should be over.

I will be excited to see these clubs, but I would easily take a different draw to get into the knockouts. This could easily be three bad loses. Need to start spending big and soon.

And of course Inter Miami gets a very favorable group competitively.
