What about quality though? If predictions about quantity are correct what then will really stick out is quality. So the question becomes how to use AI for „better“ research.
Most AI predictions are about quantity. That might be happening. But there is nothing new about it. „More“ has been with us at least since the 80s.
I for one actually have more time to read stuff, think about it, reflect than ever before in my career.
I‘m very much looking forward for all these hot takes on AI to materialize.
Right now I see ever more substacks and tweets on AI than actual new research popping up.
Maybe what we actually gain with AI is time to think and reflect. At least that’s what currently seems to be happening.

The critique of unmeasured confounding is often levied in a lazy/broad way. It is trivially true in any observational study. But if the critic can't think of a plausible such confounder and posit a reasonable direction/magnitude of its bias then they're not doing productive science.

I have been trying to summarize social psychology research on anti-immigrant sentiment for 3 weeks now. While I can summarize families of results based on types of designs, I still struggle to summarize the theory used to make sense of results. Anybody has a clearly written piece they can recommend?
