Schoolkids in occupied Ukraine to face mandatory ‘history’ exam denying Russia’s invasion of Crimea and other crimes The 9th Grade ‘exam’ will test students’ ability to repeat the fictitious version of events presented in Russian ‘history textbooks’ penned by Putin crony Vladimir Medinsky

The history of Russia's occupation of 14 sovereign countries after World War II provides ample evidence that Russian occupation means constant brutalization through forced Russification. It is common knowledge that there can be no peace under Russian occupation.

You can joke about Pam Bondi’s ridiculous unprofessionalism all you want, but I’m deeply shocked by it: She acts as if she fears absolutely no consequences, convinced that there will be no more political power transfers. — This should shake everyone to their core.

TRUTH IS UNCOMFORTABLE.
Most Americans still aren't ready for the truth.
Most Americans are still in denial about what's happening here.
Most Americans are still talking about "flipping the Houseat midterms." and appealing to Republicans in Congress to "do the right thing."

👇🏽HERE'S THE TRUTH 👇🏽

“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

“Because that’s what they are”

A photo of Dalen's sunlight valve, which looks like a set of tubes in a glass case. This valve worked by means of a set of metal rods, one of which was blackened while the others were polished. When the blackened rod absorbed enough heat from the Sun, it would expand and close the valve. At dusk, or in foggy conditions, the blackened rod would return to the temperature of the others, contract, and open the valve.

Dalén’s third invention was a sunlight-sensitive valve that turned the acetylene off when it was sunny and on when it wasn’t, no humans required. This was especially good for light buoys (which aren’t designed to be staffed), and it was extremely reliable, requiring almost no maintenance. (10/n) 🧪⚛️

Making lighthouses cheaper required two things: greater automation and a different fuel. Acetylene was attractive because it produces a bright light and was manufactured industrially.

Unfortunately, it's also *highly* explosive. Like, "look at it wrong and it goes boom" explosive. (5/n) ⚛️🧪

Now, back to Dalén. Like Alfred Nobel, Dalén was Swedish, born in 1869 in the small farming community of Stengstorp. There’s now a museum there dedicated to him and his inventions, which included a machine to make coffee and turn on the lights in the mornings. #relatable (2/n) 🧪⚛️

So what persuaded the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to award the 1908 Nobel Prize for Physics to Gabriel Lippmann, for inventing a version of colour photography that wouldn’t even let you take a selfie?

The answer, in a word, is “politics”. (8/n) 🧪⚛️

Colour photography is hard, which is why almost all photos from the first ~100 years of photographic history are either black-and-white or artificially tinted. Lippmann's method did away with that. This photo is well over 100 years old, and it's as gorgeous as the day Lippmann took it. ⚛️🧪(4/n)

How Hitler seized power:

1. Create a crisis.
2. Demonize opponents.
3. Declare a state of emergency.
4. Undermine elections.
5. Make the rule of law irrelevant.
6. Rule by decree.

If America falls it will be because of the people who didn’t pay attention.
