Holland 44
Been working my way through Holland 44. I might actually win as the allies because I got some very fortunate bridge rolls.

Talking about board games in the library.
Talking to people about the various ways you can learn history through board games.
Got to talk about my favorite hobby last week in the library. It was a real fun event.
I am head-over-heels for Quinn’s Quest. I hope you’ll indulge my enthusiasm as this post runs up against the 3 minute video limit on BlueSky. If you’re intrigued, I encourage you to check out the latest episode here: youtu.be/DI8fUgSdgZg?.... You’ll find @itsquinns.bsky.social here on Bsky too.
Sorry, that was quite the divergence from the value of playing football in the MAC. The headline definitely triggered some realignment frustration.
I miss the big 8….it was a simpler time before conference realignment and media deals.
My daughter got accepted to UT-Austin, and then I had to explain to her that my Alma mater, Mizzou, used to be in the Big 12 with Texas and now they are in the SEC together. Then she asked if they were rivals, then I had to explain well no thats Kansas, and then had to explain the big 8…
I instead watched a WW2 documentary about the fall of the Third Reich so I’m assuming similar vibes.
History-focused board games on display in a library.
Doing an event at the college library today.
I think his response was probably akin to Ralph Wiggim “Me fail Tarrifs? That’s unpossible”
A piece of paper showing a 4x4 grid mostly filled with drawings of buildings. Next to the grid are building names next to polyomino shapes with squares of different colors.
I make games because I love every step of the process—the initial idea, the scrappy first prototype, the first playtest filled with glee and failure and hope.
Here’s my scrappy first prototype of Tiny Towns. [1/6]
To serve man episode of Twilight Zone
Stephen Miller
I’m pretty sure there is an alien in the white house. Watch “To Serve Man” episode of Twilight Zone. Stephen Miller’s end game for this country is pretty much revealed.
"Ultimate Warhammer Quest" An overview of some of the latest goodies from Littlemonk. The level of detail and attention on display here is so unfathomable to me.
I cancelled my legacy media subscriptions this week (except PBS and NPR) and instead put that money toward real journalism. lni.media/subscribe?re...
My workplace’s still doesn’t know how to make excel useful. You get promoted for knowing how to mail merge. But here, they expect those same people to “figure out” a chat bot with no clear use or purpose for their duties. Good luck with that. I think the lie about AI is it’s somehow intuitive.
Based on my workplace’s current mastery of excel, I’d say we will transition to an AI model in about 40 years, give or take.
In all seriousness though, Trump has only seen one sports movie in his life…Air Bud. It completely explains the way he interprets the constitution. “It doesn’t say in the rules that a dog can’t launch an invasion without congressional approval”.

Rodney is GOATed in YouTube, and GOATed as a human being (in more ways than one). It's been one of the pleasures of my life having gotten to know him over the last several years, and I'm happy as I can be to share this message from him.
Trump is still probably pissed that Russell Crowe and a group of amateurs once beat the New York Rangers. Though he might not remember it was Alaskans and not Canadians. He might also not remember it was fiction.

My only problem with the halftime show was that the chiefs weren’t in the Super Bowl.
Fact-checking the Bad Bunny halftime show
Today I emailed publishers about a concerning practice a board game media creator engaged in. This will likely become public, so I'm providing the details here to give the full context of what I shared.

Fields of Fire 2 -Chosin campaign
Had a great weekend of gaming, Watched some presentations for @sdhistcon.bsky.social and played Space Corp and Spirit Island with son. Had some company by our gaming room window. Also, still playing Fields of Fire by myself when everyone is sleeping.
I had a planning meeting today about the event, and it probably looked insane from the outside because I was literally sitting on an office floor with Cuba Libre’s board on my lap, talking as passionately as someone who had discovered the cure for cancer.
Great news! I am officially hosting an event at our college library on February 24th where I’m going to be demoing history-focused board games and also presenting a professional development on how to integrate them into the classroom.
Got my badge!!!
