The Cut, a mag focused on fashion editorials and entertainment, published a guide to assisting MN during ICE raids: signposting to fundraisers, supporting volunteering for school and grocery runs, legal observer training. Immigrants are “sheltering in place”. Those events should shock us more
Suleiman Ghawanmeh's village of Ras Ein al-Auja in the occupied West Bank has now been erased – emptied of its Palestinian residents after a years-long campaign of relentless settler harassment that has intensified over the past two years.

I, who have never shown any interest in your products or the type of products you sell, declare that I am going to never again buy your products, because I am angry that you said things that conflict factually with my favorite propaganda sources.
Mmmm…reminding me of Mumbai Thistle in downtown Inverness. Ate there twice in three days. You’re lucky!

I’m old enough to remember the late 2000s, when redpill dudes were starting to mobilize online
various feminists and queer activists and historians wrote fairly regularly about misogyny as the canary in the coal mine of fascism
I can still hear the crickets
I have been caught in these nets before.
Yorkshire Gold ftw!
It's International Coffee Day. A moment to put our caffeine-based differences aside and unite against our common enemy: soup.
I'm staying up past midnight on the 31st not to see 2026 in but to watch 2025 die.

Bought it used and have only had one fix in six years.
We went through 3 whirlpool/GE’s in 7 or 8 years. It’s been 6 with this Bosch. I’m happy.

It is the annual Making Of The Soup. If you want to feed some folks sleeping rough, I got me two hundred takeout quart containers. And a metric fuckton of tomatoes. And a Vitamix.

Chuck Schumer is either allowing eight of his colleagues to be the sin eaters who take the blame for passing this shutdown deal, or he’s genuinely powerless to hold his conference together. Either way, he should be out of leadership tomorrow morning.
The Cross Shinjuku Vision LED billboard has a photo of Zohran Mamdani with Japanese text.
I’m in Tokyo (!) and just spotted Zohran Mamdani on the Shinjuku giant cat billboard. Good job to folks back home!
Purple background, white text, which says Mrs Palm is an interesting Discworld character, as is the historical context her story references. Discworld's foremost witch, Granny Weatherwax, describes Mrs Palm as "almost a witch."
Freyja Stokes, a real-life #Pratchett scholar, looks at Mrs Palm and the historical connections between sex work and witchcraft... come for the history, stay for some amazing puns.

Yes, exactly this! Just like your pic. “Do that elsewhere else, please.”
Story was before my time and I sadly could never get the full details from the partners.
Office policies at my last place of work:

Not fucking kidding.
And international leaders keep talking about a ceasefire being in effect.

An eye spray-painted on a red brick arch. Below the arch, a green lawn with palm tree shadows.
A woman's eye with the blue from its iris running down her cheek.
An eye that kinda looks like a snail, spray-painted on a white brick wall.

Grasshoppers mating on a coneflower.
A bumblebee on an oregano flower.
A grasshopper and a small spider on a squash leaf.
I couldn’t decide which was funnier tonight, a grasshopper jump scaring me or catching a couple in the act, but I was just picking arugula leaves in the near dark when a raccoon came around the corner and we were almost face to face before it took off. I’m not sure which of us was more startled! 🌱
A large mural of a sandhill crane with wings outstretched and one leg raised in dark water that fades down to reflected pinks. In the bottom right corner is a 29 cent postage stamp depicting two people in a boat fishing.
Another Flint mural. This is by Kevin Burdick/Scraps Design and is in the alley next to the Capitol Theatre, one of my very favorite places.
A booth at Dragon Con 2025 with tables containing various nerdy t-shirts, stickers and laser cut toys for the undiscerning gamer. In the back of the booth has shelves full of t-shirts.
Set up for Dragon Con 2025 Booth 2802. Woohoo! We are ready for you to visit, peruse and chat as is your wont.
Can’t wait to see you all!
Parchment sheets covered in raspberry leaves, mint leaves, echinacea leaves and petals, lemon balm, and fennel pollen in various stages of drying. Bowls and jars with sage, dried lemon balm, mint, oregano flowers, and echinacea are around the countertop.
A big pile of lemon balm and smaller piles of echinacea leaves and petals on sheets of parchment paper
My kitchen has become endless ever-changing piles of drying herbs and flowers, especially for salts and teas. Cookie sheets in the stove, cutting boards layered on pans, half-filled jars everywhere. It smells wonderful. 🌱🍜
