Co-production workshops to understand how infectious diseases spread during outbreaks | Co-Production Collective
Please circulate! Are you or do you know someone from groups particularly affected by Mpox, & those less likely to be heard by researchers? We are working with @thelovetankcic.bsky.social to organise workshops seeking to improve modelling response.

This amazing bus is the Moon Palace - a wonderful project between art and Physics to create a space to inspire people how the universe works. If youβre in London over 20-21 Feb, drop into the courtyard outside Royal Astronomical Society and take a look eps.leeds.ac.uk/faculty-engi...

I donβt think it was this as there doesnβt appear to be a hole. Could be a drip from the gutter above but even that looks to be in the wrong place

Itβs just a shallow puddle on top of a plastic container and thereβs no hole so I donβt think itβs expansion.

Does anyone know how this formed? Ice funnel about 7cm high and 2cm diameter sticking up from a sheet of ice on a horizontal plastic surface.

A piece of covid pandemic history spotted yesterday. This must have been from sometime in Feb 2020 and the poster was probably only relevant for 2-3 weeks. Itβs easy to forget now how little we knew and how fast things moved in the early days.

A heavily scalloped underground stream passage, with a caver admiring a calcite formation in the distance
Small gours and causing steps in the stream passage, with a greenish pool beneath them
A high level passage above the streamway, with extensive calcite roof and wall formations, and a caver shining her light down a smaller oxbow part way up the wall.
There are a lot of horrible things happening in the world. I can't offer answers, or even cat pics. But I have been having a go at taking some cave pics while away at new year. First time for a while. Hopefully you will like them.

I wonder how many millions in productivity is lost each year because cross country trains are too cramped to work on and the 4G signal is terrible? I love visiting colleagues at Birmingham uni, but I loathe the trains.

I had 2 nights on a multi bed ward last year and the sheer amount of noise all the time really struck me. So many bleeps/alarms and absolutely no privacy in conversations despite the sensitivity of some of the patient conditions. I eventually worked out how to silence my own drip stand alarm!
