They're only going to ignore the STUPID rules of engagement. Which those are, we'll probably never know.

Things of Evil don't merely get old, they become Elder Things of Evil or even Ancient

They're doing it as a lesson to other states that might resist them, but in reality, Minnesotans are the ones teaching a lesson.

you can think of a blob as the same kind of thing that's in a file. or think of a file as being a container for a blob. by thinking of the blob as a separate thing from the file it's in, you can conceive of storing it in another kind of container, such as a database.

they're not going to let a little thing like "they don't want us here" stop them, even if we REALLY don't want them there

seems like we're gonna get more films like this since Everything Everywhere All At Once won Best Picture. that don't confront me none, though

eero is arguably the simplest mesh network, it kinda just works, but if you didn't want to shell out for one, TP-Link Deco is a lot more affordable, works well, and offers features you might like to have. FIN

a client will hold onto an extender until it simply can't anymore, and only then look for another access point. this is fine for clients that don't move around much but not great for phones, tablets, and laptops. 2/

an extender generally isn't going to work as well as a mesh network like eero. a mesh network knows which node has the best connection to each client and will switch nodes automatically as you move a device around. an extender doesn't coordinate with the main router and can't do this. 1/

My late father swore he'd never buy a car from a local (Columbus, Ohio) dealer who continually shook his head like this. "How can you trust a word he's saying when his head is denying it?" is something resembling what he might have said, perhaps

at least they feel like they still have to go through the motions of justice instead of just throwing people into the gulag. so we've got that going for us, which is nice

Stalin is the name of the car, because it's always stallin'. You're still right to be concerned, but more because you will likely be delayed than because you will be exterminated

A while ago they built an apartment building in downtown Bellevue, Washington (a Seattle burb) with a Safeway on the bottom. It's been very successful. I think it'd be convenient AF to live in a place like that, but I expect you'll find a lot of people shopping in their pajamas in there...

This is fundamentally the same thing as programming, except you need to learn a lot less about how to phrase things so the computer understands them.

if you had written that piece in 2025, I suspect you might have compared "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" to AI slop. A pastiche of the band's previous work generated by a computerized blender.

Is there such a thing as "human slop"?

regardless of whether the cat's winter coat is triggered by shortening days or falling temperatures, those cues are the same regardless of the hemisphere it's in. the cat's winter coat will grow in as expected.
