The Washington Post's description of the bodycam video of his arrest last year, and the translation of Mr. Shah Alam's comments, is gutting. Remember, he was entirely blind in one eye and could only see three feet in the other, and he spoke virtually no English.
He spent a year in jail for this.
Every stage of this process - his arrest, spending a year in jail, being dumped on the streets to die - would be deeply shameful in a society that actually valued human life.
You're not lazy. Either a contract gig or a standard f/t gig might involve eight hours of focused work (or more) some days, some weeks--other times, it'll be less, and that is a-OK. My own sweet spot varies depending on the type of mental demand involved.

Nurul Amin Shah Alam's death is inhumane, deeply disturbing, and completely avoidable. Nearly blind and unable to speak English, he was dropped off alone in the freezing cold by Trump's Border Patrol agents at a donut shop five miles away from his home.
This is also tyrannical. Capriciously and vindictively changing laws to manufacture offenses is always illegitimate.
