The question being:

"Your attempts to stop us from making poor decisions hasn't worked yet, we keep making them! So your strategy is the problem."

People really love to pretend that the point of Capitalism isn't to get more Capital.

If you're unaware, "Rapist" when said by a right-winger is basically just code-speech for "non-whites."

Probably because they were devised by placing money in a higher position of importance than humans.

No, what Russia is doing is absolutely a war crime.

Ukraine has shown (as far as I know) *amazing* self-restraint in responding to such crimes.

But that self-restraint is so impressive because retaliation is so understandable a response.

It's perfectly understandable for a Nation State to commit war crimes when war crimes are being committed upon said Nation State.

It doesn't justify such behavior -war crimes are war crimes- but let us no pretend that it is somehow incomprehensible or beyond the pale.

War is bad.

There are several USA-based sites that won't let you onto them if you're coming from Europe due to (I believe) different privacy requirements in the EU vs USA. Have to VPN to see 'em.

Thankfully there are so many wealthy people in Dubai that they'll just be able to buy more food when it runs out.

The car in question, of course, is being used to run over people no matter how its steered.

The moral solution to the trolley problem is to not step on the trolley that you know is going to run over people.

One reason is that a lot of people have an undue amount of faith in the fairness of the US democratic process.

It's foolish (IMO) given the real history of the US democratic process, but most people still believe the "I cannot tell a lie" version of USA history they were taught in school.

You've made it about "Generalizations are bad!"

You've changed the subject from the poor behavior of "everyone in Europe is focused on the non-whites" because you didn't like the word "everyone."

You found my use of "everyone" more offensive than my pointing out the xenophobes.
