*monstrous god-kings from another realm

*bringing back the dead
*people making terrible life choices

Also, imma be that person and ask if you've listened to A Million Points of Light and can rate and review it, I will love you forever, from afar, not creepily.
Please, my internet blessings upon you etc
I am deep in the struggle zone with the current WiP, and while I know this is how my books happen, I hate feeling like I'm floundering in a giant mess of half-cooked plot-noodles, some of which clearly come from different packs of pasta.
Plus side, I sat down and wrote 2000 words of back story.
oooft yeyyyy
that's three slices of cake, right?
very much agreed!
This book deserves your love
Tru Skies, the orgy files

Social media post with the cover for A Million Points of Light, with the following quote below βI want this,β he heard himself saying, even though he did not want this. He wanted to curl into himself, hold his broken pieces together. He wanted the world to open and swallow him, keep him safe. He didnβt want Ileaβs teeth in him, their tongue lapping at broken skin, at new-spilled blood. He wanted Ileaβs teeth in him. βOh, fuck me,β Aleks said and the world went warm and black as he obliterated the bed, the room, Ilea.
It's #BookQW and the word is open! A Million Points of Light is the sequel to last year's The Shape of Monsters, and it's full of disaster queers who really should not have access to magic and unbridled power, no sir.
Graphic with blue abstract background and book cover of Wiz Duos 2 next to a quote from novella "Bring Me Home" by E.M. Faulds. The word "open" is highlighted in the text. Text reads: βWeβre going to regreen this world, starting here. Itβs not going to be without its hardships. Each of Us has made sacrifices. You can walk away; I wonβt keep any of you against your will. But right now, you have to make a choice. A commitment. Okay?β And she left the circle, nodding to Harro. He stepped in, something hessian in hand. βYour mobiles, please and thank you very much.β He went to Phoebe first, holding the seed sack open. She pulled her phone out of her pocket. Theyβll isolate you. Cut you off from the outside world. Be prepared. Thatβs what theyβd told her. Still, she hesitated for a second. Her lifeline to her family in Alba, splash feeds, all her friends, almost all help. She stretched out her hand and put her phone in. Harro grinned at her. There wasnβt a glimmer of malice, but he was enjoying himself, that was for sure. After heβd been round with the sack, another Us member passed him a small handheld device with a little old school LCD screen. βNow, you all told me you had no implants when you joined the convoy. Weβre going to make sure you werenβt telling me a lie.β

Phoebe's stuck in New Australia spying on a cultish terrorist group in the outback.
Near future SF from a BSFA shortlisted author. Paired with a brilliant fantasy novella from @julietk.bsky.social!

Absolute loved this book by my fellow @sauutiverse.bsky.social sibling Cheryl S. Ntumy!

this is incredible. I can barely cut a straight line on wrapping paper
Now I'm never going to stop calling it microslop
As someone who wasn't in this country to watch children's TV shows of the time, what it reminds me of is British children's books of that era, Alan Gardner, Diana Wynne Jones, Susan Cooper etc, but for an adult audience (and on TV, obviously)
But TBF, [name book] is a work of unparalleled genius so you should be proud of your work on it as an editor.
It really pushes boundaries while still being reminiscent of classics like [famous novel] and appealing to modern audiences of [insert TV series.]
Someone correctly said that one reason why Small Prophets works is, despite being an adult comedy-drama, it has the "feel" of old 70s/80s childrens fantasy dramas of the sort the BBC used to do so well.
