That said, as a middle classer myself, while I could do good things with that money, I’d rather it go to someone who’s actually poor

If you can provide $3k checks for the entire middle class of America by taxing 900 people a little more, not only should you do it, but you should take it as a signal that your monetary system is broken

I know so many people whose lives would begin to stabilise if they got a $3k cheque.
