It’s very frustrating to hear mainstream reporters continue to characterize what ICE, CBP and others as “immigration enforcement.” Even now. Like if you don’t know what this is about at this point I don’t know how to help you.

Immigration judges with prior immigrant defense work make up the largest share of those fired by the Trump admin. NPR identified 70 fired immigration judges. The changes have at least shifted perception of fairness in these courts

Jurist Roberts's memos reveal him to be hostile towards civil rights, affirmative action and the Voting Rights Act. He has even said that Voting Rights Act violations, and I quote, "should not be made too easy to prove.'

Trump’s cruel mass detention and deportation agenda has reached a previously unimaginable scope and scale with ICE planning to double its detention capacity by the end of this year to detain nearly 110,000 people. Texas alone will have the capacity to detain at least 37,000 people.
🚨FEMA is reassigning employees to work for ICE.
It’s despicable that during hurricane season and historic floods, Trump’s DHS would force FEMA employees to abandon that critical work to carry out the admin’s mass detention and deportation agenda. This moment warrants a national outcry.

Trump fired the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics simply because he didn’t like the data. A hallmark of authoritarian leadership is being unable to accept reality and taking that out on people simply doing their jobs.

I think this minimizes what he and his family will have to go through. The result is not guaranteed given the mass firings of decent judges, and he will be detained for months if not longer while he waits. If he wins, DHS will likely appeal.
Yes, existing law enabled this to happen and that must change. But under prior admins, he likely would have been given deferred inspection rather than held incommunicado at the airport
just need to say this, and maybe you can relate: way too much of my mental overhead recently has been devoted to a questionably healthy amount of numbing myself to what is happening in front of me while trying to stave off the feeling that it is all about to get a lot worse for everyone
