Wisconsin Legislature: AB784: Bill Text

Wisconsin's 6-story single-stair bill dropped last month with 9 bill sponsors.

Oddly, the bill creates a council consisting of industry gatekeepers to author the single-stair code including an IRC expert even though 6-story projects would be under the IBC

This is why I’m firm β€œshut the whole thing down and get it done as efficiently as possible”

Not only does partial work probably cause more delays overall, it’s infinitely more dangerous.

Yeah, I think the people who drag him now don’t realize there’s not a single soul that could have changed that trajectory, and he was 25.

People don’t realize how quick it shifted from β€œhaha, edgelord, dark humor, but I’m not really a Nazi”

I mean, obviously not, he eventually booted it all before it drove him to just give up and sell it for what he could get.

The site was ruining his life.

And no way Jeff convinced him of anything he didn’t already wanna do.

Just trust me on this one, that guy wouldn’t be able to convince m00 t of anything he wasn’t already set on doing.
That convo went one of two ways, either cris asked him insightful questions & follow ups without once saying anything about himself, or he info dumped on some topic way over J Es head

He brought it back because he viewed it as a needle sharing program, methadone clinic kinda thing, better to give them their own dark corner than have them revolt and be way worse on 8chan.

After, he’d cooperate with turning over documents to the Feds on awful shit

You ever think his desire to drop off the face of the earth and what 4chan had become maybe were related somehow?

I mean, to give perspective he founded 4chan, went through all that shit, and sold it all before he even had to get off his parents health insurance.

So, remember that scene in Andor where the empire shoots one of its own security forces at a protest to justify a crackdown an takeover of Gorman?

The empire wanted a clean Casus Beli, it would lose the public opinion narrative by killing sympathetic protestors without cause.

Good show, Andor.

The 4 alternatives for Reimagining WI-175 are in. WISDOT indicate that public feedback has essentially ruled out the replace in kind option (yay!), and strongly prefers the "End Middle" and/or "End South" options.

I agree, despite major quibbles with some design choices, esp the Cul-de-sacs. #MKE

Even if you had the money, no one wants to code your 3 am app idea, and no lawyer is gonna sign on to help you craft a 60 page legal brief for whatever noble cause of the day is.
But with good AI, those doors are open.

I think the writing is on the wall for a LOT of rent seeking industries.

You know, all the focus is on stealing and creepy aspects of AI, art, people impersonation, or whatever.

But for a lot of applications its a complete game changer: leveling the playing field for those with ideas, but without the capital to pay armies of professionals for thankless grunt work.

if you removed a lane each direction for median and sidewalk expansion, this becomes really good urbanism.

Heck, even turning a parking lane+driving lane to angled parking would do a heckuva lot.

Christiansburg to Salem: Volumes generally range from 38,000 to 43,000.
Roanoke area: This section has some of the highest volumes, around 50,000 to 52,000 vehicles per day.

"Just one more lane, bro!" Shenandoah mountain style!

Virginia has about 325 miles of interstate 81, and the counties it goes through don't even get to a million people combined.

Congressman Ben Cline just proposed widening the entire stretch from 4 to 6 lanes. a ~20 Billion dollar project???

System sucks. 250 years and only one other country has ever copied it, and that’s because they were essentially a colony of ours.

And… let’s just say the results there could have given you a lot of clues about what a bad faith person could do

Any position of power being a winner take all first past the post election held by one person is a potential failure point.

One person shouldn’t have the right to make ANY call alone.
