Amazing hearing my predecessor as Disability Chair discuss the importance of the international rights of women and girls with a special nod to the challenges disabled women and trans women face

Delighted our disability amendment to ensure the access to nature motion went a step further in providing access to all passed with no votes against!
Disabled people need to be remembered in all layers of policy - because it impacts so much
Interesting that every time we discuss women's rights at Lib Dem Conference the group that claims to care so deeply about "the rights of women and girls" is completely and utterly absent.

Me in my PhD howl and degree
Finally got to formally graduate and spend a few days celebrating in York 🥰
On Monday I start a new job as Wellbeing and Inclusion advisor for a law firm! Really excited to continue the EDI journey and be able to expand my knowledge in different sectors :)
If we’re worried about falling birth rates we could always let refugees and immigrants in to ensure the younger populations are maintained….
Autistic people are more likely to be trans, for a variety of reasons, - and denying their ability to determine their own self takes our autonomy away. Autistic people are intelligent and self aware. Do not speak for us when you do not know what it is like to be us.

Decided to add my title into my social media accounts in both an act of feminism and also because I finally got around to updating my new job title too! Start the job in a few weeks and looking forward to it :)
If you think living on benefits provides you an easy and carefree life then you clearly have never had to worry about being jobless or considered what it would be like to be disabled.
Explain to me how the right a) believe there’s too many people and b) believe we aren’t having enough babies please
(Racism, the answer is racism)
If you choose to sit on the front part of a bus, have a bag next to, and not move it when the bus gets full, you are a bad person.
Even disabled people who need the front seats, move your bag, other disabled people exist!
Spent nine years putting money in a pot (randomly - had no clue what the total would be), and will now use it to go and see the place Neanderthals were discovered to celebrate finishing my PhD 🥰
A fluffy macaroni penguin jelly cat with a note saying happy birthday and congratulations
Look who @nothingbutflowers.bsky.social sent me for my birthday and graduation 🥺🥺
He’s so soft and will fully distract me for the rest of the day
While this is true I’m also being rejected for jobs at all levels between 25k and 40k and I just want a paycheck and it makes no sense to me why the government are obsessed with pushing my mother into deeper poverty to “encourage her” to get a job when she can’t leave the house in the meantime
Can someone tell me why the government is so eager to get people who can’t work in to work, when I am desperately searching for a job and being rejected even for roles I’m overqualified for and could do with my eyes closed?
Season 3 The Traitors Drinking Game
-“it’s an alibi”
-“it’s a game”
-“I think you’re a traitor and that’s a compliment”
-A traitor says something and it’s taken and owned by someone else and causes chaos
-crying
Pale blue nails with snow flakes and a penguin on one nail
Christmas nails ✨🥰🐧
Got an early Christmas present: over two years since I’ve had to significantly change my lifestyle after developing significant pain in my hip (caused by a spinal injury made as a child apparently), I’ve been referred to a surgeon 🥰
I will never forget the rapist who said “I’m not a monster, I’m just like any other man” - because violence from men could be done by any man. We need to teach boys and men how to see others as human instead of telling girls and women to stay home and wear long skirts.
Did you know a lot of disabled people give each other the advice of not drinking or eating a day before travelling, especially via a plane, because a lot of transport isn’t accessible enough to let people go to the loo?
The normalisation of inaccessibility needs to stop.
Christmas card demanding action on sleigh speeds
Got home to an amazing card from @harveyj.bsky.social (even if his writing is not blue letter worthy) making me laugh and needing to explain all the Lib Dem jokes to my flatmates 😂😭🥰
On a one penguin mission to introduce all my Bristol friends to A Muppets Christmas Carol because apparently most of them haven’t seen it?!
Spending £110 on private medical stuff today bc the NHS is so underfunded :(
(Lucky enough it only goes into some of my food budget and ultimately can afford it at least)
Much like I’d never date someone whose rude to the waiter, I’d also never date someone who leaves their bag on a seat when the bus has no two seats left empty
Chocolate Yule log looking quite log like
Really proud of todays attempt at a Yule log 🥺🥰
Severe weather alert notification
Thanks to the government for ruining my nap by waking me up with the most terrifying noise ❤️
“Labour are the party of the poor and less fortunate”
Really? Then why do they insist on continuing to demonise people on benefits so much?
Immigration is good actually.
Abolish borders ❤️
I don’t want to be rich, I just want to be financially comfortable enough to afford to buy some Poundland headphones to give to people playing music out loud on public transport without it going into my necessities budget
Booked mine! Excited to not be in York 😂
