I’m a big fan of Herbie Hancock’s early solo records for this sort of thing. “Maiden Voyage” and “Empyrean Isles” being probably the best of the bunch. As others have said, Coltrane’s live at village vanguard is a a stone cold classic and def need to check that one out.
