Other notes that I would have is it's important to get your scanning exposure correct, I was having a difficult time with it until I took half a stop out of my scan. Also, I'm using linear Rec2020 RGB as my input and working color profile, if that means anything
I use Darktable so things may not be the same. Often I will tweak how the program interprets the negatives a bit but it seems I left that alone here and let the auto-corrections for the highlights and shadows do it's thing, which for Darktable is done by selecting certain areas.
