Unfortunately, despite numerous mention of accessibility and inclusivity etc. on the conference website, the conference is exclusively face-to-face. Huge disappointment.
Did u know? If you accidentally dig up or uncover a pupa in your outside space (the appearance of this one suggests that it'll emerge as a moth or butterfly) just pop them back where you found them - in the same place, at the same depth....and wish them luck on their journey... 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🦋
Here is the original Map of Monotropic Experiences I created and expanded with @stimpunks.org team.
We now have free open-source training and a reflective workbook to accompany this neuro-affirming resource.

Saline nasal sprays offer so much potential as a public health intervention to reduce viral illnesses. Easy to use, relatively cheap and widely available.
Research shows that a #communitygarden can make you more democratic, and happier.

Book cover of Autistic Community and the Neurodiversity Movement: Stories from the Frontline, edited by Steven K. Kapp. The artwork shows a bright, glowing sun above a vivid landscape of rolling green hills. A large rainbow arcs across the sky, filled with colorful stars. Below, a long procession of diverse people moves forward along a winding path through the hills, symbolizing community and collective movement. The cover features an open access label and the Palgrave Macmillan logo.
This open-access book marks the first historical overview of the autism rights branch of the neurodiversity movement, describing the activities & rationales of key leaders in their own words.

Those physically realistic models predict subpolar gyre tipping around 2040-2050. This would lead to a local cooling of 1-2 degrees in 10 to 20 years. The Nordic seas would warm, the jet stream shift northward and in summer high pressure over Scandinavia could lead to more (intense) heat waves.

A photo of a small, black-furred shrew climbing on a branch with text overlay that says "Australia’s only shrew declared extinct. Australia continues to lead the world in mammal extinctions."
Australia’s only shrew has been declared extinct. Australia leads the world in mammal extinctions and ranks second for loss of biodiversity. We need better funding for conservation action and stronger environmental laws to uphold our international commitments to prevent further extinctions 🧪
Nice article about someone realising they are autistic in later life.

Moment of joy for the self employed: I am absolutely indispensable to my employer! Actually, since some of the services I provide are also unique, my untimely death would leave a tiny vacuum for them, as well!
I'd better try to take good care of myself and try to avoid working myself to death.😊
Did u know? Moths are significant pollinators in our gardens. As they're often nocturnal, they've evolved clever ways of evading predators during the day. The Plume moth hides by folding its wings up like a concertina, so that it looks like a teeny twig, rather than a tasty bird meal. 🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🦋
Covid is not over.
People are still dying and becoming disabled every day.
We rushed “back to normal” for the economy, not because the threat had passed.
When you wear a mask, you’re not only protecting your health, you’re saying you don’t believe anyone is expendable.
A two-part infographic showing relationships between five nexus elements: biodiversity, water, food, health, and climate. Part A shows projected future impacts across six different nexus archetypes, ranging from "Nature-oriented nexus" to "Nature overexploitation." Impacts are indicated using blue upward arrows (positive), red downward arrows (negative), and wavy lines (variable). Part B displays six network diagrams showing interactions among the nexus elements. Each diagram represents a different archetype, using circles with icons for each element. Arrows between elements show relationships: Blue arrows indicate positive influences Red arrows indicate negative influences Different arrow thicknesses show magnitude (high, moderate, low) The diagrams progressively show how relationships between elements change from balanced and positive interactions in the "Nature-oriented nexus" to predominantly negative interactions in the "Nature overexploitation" scenario. The visualization demonstrates how different management approaches affect the relationships between environmental, health, and climate factors.
🔍#Biodiversity. Water. Food. Health. #ClimateChange. All of them interact and intersect but how?
Check this new graphic from the @ipbes.net #Nexus Assessment and explore the interactions among the nexus elements.

Many of us with chronic illness are stuck in survival mode.
It’s a vicious cycle that can make you sicker, but then the sicker you get the harder it is to get out of survival mode.
It’s one of the reasons we must learn to pace, to rest and to unplug.
It’s ok to take breaks. Rest is resistance!
We should not follow guidance that causes harm to others. We have an ethical duty to protect those around us from disability. That’s the way I have seen this and nothing will change my mind.
*This* has not been acknowledged by any institution or government. Ultimate betrayal is to label CEV families “anxious”.
RIP Jane Goodall. 💔
It’s the responsibility and the duty of anyone with a public platform to keep reminding everybody that civilisations flourish by collaboration not hostility and prejudice. This includes intellectuals who keep to their lanes in generating knowledge. Make no mistake, this is absolutely your lane.
