I’m back from a month in Japan. Sky Bexten and James Haring kept the meetup running while I was out. I appreciate that! We ran a shorter meeting tonight but it was a good one. Sky talked more about row level security in Postgres and had a demo for us!

I definitely recommend watching Rental Family
and Eleanor the Great.
Osaka Castle from the nearby pond area.
Osaka Castle.
Japan was fun!
A photo of Sakura.
Kyoto has been fun!
I had a fun time today in Osaka at Hareruya finishing a deck and playing Magic with new friends!
I'm building around Jor Kadeen for a new commander deck while I'm in Japan. Taking Reminder Text's advice and checking out Hareruyas and other shops for good deals.

I completed the Kyoto Marathon!
I have the Kyoto Marathon tomorrow! Getting excited and prepped for the morning.
Sun setting above a river.
Nice sunset tonight.
The Nagasaki Lantern Festival was fun to see! I watched them turn the lanterns on the first night.
Japan has been fun so far. I've had lots of good food too, like ramen and soba. Even Mexican food in Harajuku!
Made it to Japan!
Nice, and duct tape too! lol
My Japan trip is getting close and I'm feeling ready for the marathon. Tired from all the practice though! 😆
This month’s lightning talks revolved around hosting MCP servers on Google Cloud Run, the CUPID properties, and AI art. I’m starting an AI project with a couple friends and shared my progress on a tutorial for Google Cloud Run. cloud.google.com/blog/topics/...
I made a tavern style pizza similar to a local place in town. I played with how long I let the crust sit before making a couple of them. Overall pretty good!
24.5 miles this morning, getting closer to the marathon!
Tonight was the first meetup of the new year and I presented on interactive rebasing. I also discussed branching strategies like Gitflow and Trunk-based development. And we had a good conversation on developer idiosyncrasies and the patterns we follow.

Planning on playing some BF6 tonight with a friend. We played a ton of BF3 years ago. Looking forward to reliving that!
Who's that Pokemon?!
I made it up to 21 miles today! The last three and a half mile cycle was a little rough but I kept going.
Finally beat Bloodborne last night, now we're onto new game plus! Though we'll probably swap over to a new Elden Ring playthrough next with seamless co-op.
Nice work!
A pan full of Taiyaki.
I made some Taiyaki! I had some custard filling leftover from a Christmas party so I made some more to finish using that up.
I beat the Orphan of Kos last night, what a fight! So now my friend and I can continue on with wrapping up Bloodborne (my first playthrough). Only the final two bosses left!
Awesome, looking forward to it!
Planning a chaos draft tomorrow. I'm bringing Ice Age, Innistrad Remaster and Modern Horizons 2!
I played in a commander tournament today and did well enough to get the promo Yuna. The games were fun and opponents had cool decks!
Happy Belated Friday!
