It is brutal out in Boston this morning, but that isn’t stopping essential workers from braving the elements.

BMC general surgery resident Colton Yahn had a smile on his face this morning as he told me, β€œIt’s part of the deal. We love what we do.”

T leaders praise Gov. Healey for plan to save the agency with fair share funds β€” again Gov. Healey is calling for a nearly $1B cash infusion for the struggling transit agency, which will stabilize the T's budget in the short term. But advocates say a long-term fix is still needed.

It’s like dΓ©jΓ  vu all over again.

The MBTA is staring down a budget crisis. But surplus revenue from the millionaire’s tax could be the struggling agency’s saving grace.

Those were both true statements last year. They are this year, too. But those funds will run out.

β€˜Spiral of doom’: New report sounds alarm over MBTA’s financial future By summer 2027, a new report finds there won’t be enough revenue to make up the T’s budget gap.

The T is once again facing the prospect of a β€˜fiscal cliff.’ Last time, the state bailed it out with millionaires tax funds.

But experts like are warning that won’t be enough in the years to come.
