Here we thought that another life simulator would kill #TheSims, little did we know it'd really be between Jared Kushner and the Saudis. May the odds be ever in Maxis' favor. #TheSimsCommunity
Ummm, I'd like to agree with you, but there's a lot of massive turds filling the toilet of 2025. However, I understand the feeling ๐
*cough* Andrew *cough* Wilson *cough*
You know sales are dropping for #TheSims4 and there's great unrest in #TheSimsCommunity when Maxis says "We hear you!"
And even though they're on a manhunt for the shooter, they're already spouting that the left is a bunch of murderers. Clear as crystal a game of political chess.
And just like that, it is the only thing news media is talking about. And if you think it was random, your MAGA brainwash is showing.
If you think, "Oh no, they wouldn't do something like that."
Yes. They. Would.
And they will continue.

I agree, I also want it to be it's own thing.
I haven't played since I think April and the anxiety is definitely still present, especially when they reveal packs and updates. There's just over 3 months to go before Paralives enters early access, I only hope that they've put all their love into it and that it can heal what EA has caused.
Every #TheSims4 pack announcement, I wonder what's going to break in the pre-pack update.
But then I remember, I don't gotta live that stress because I'm not playing #TheSims anymore.
It's mighty peaceful giving my money to companies that actually care about their games.
Are we ready to boycott yet?
Well... I told you so. ๐
As a former hairstylist, I can assure you that these are things we want to know about our clients in order to make the experience more pleasant.
The whole
"They cancelled #TheSims5"
is such a joke when they never, I repeat, never even said it was going to be a thing, yet every year, we're doing this any time they say a damn thing else.
Stahp.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I'm right there with you. However, I do think there needs to be a collective of fanbases to come together to disrupt sales every time these companies endorse it. The "hit 'em where it hurts" tactic to prove a point kind of thing.
Like, I love y'all.
But where do we actually stand? AI, its endorsement, its use, is uprooting so many careers, livelihoods, and destroying the planet. You don't get to choose a "grey area", pay a morally bankrupt company, and then pretend you're on the right side of things.
#TheSimsCommunity
No lie,
It is 100% wild to me that every day, I get on here and see posts against AI, but they're posted/reposted by folk who dedicate their presence to The Sims as if the publisher isn't actively, constantly endorsing it's use with full intent to use it.

Will someone care?
Will I wake tomorrow,
From this nightmare?"

It's like the perfect illusion of transparency, meanwhile, it's still raining indoors.
250k compared to a minimum of 5 million (up to over 8 million) is extremely laughable and a perfect representation of how the US actually feels about Ol' Yam Tits.
December 8th, 2025
25+ years of Sims
15+ years of EA's greed
I'm ready for the divorce.
I'll sign an actual End User Agreement.
They can keep the money.
They can choke on the legacy.
I'm ready to find peace amongst my game collection.

Why is it "Stoney Baloney" and not "Stogna Bologna"?
I prefer to be stogna.
Oh no, blocked by Waffle. Whatever will I do ๐
Furthermore, their fanbase is dedicated to see this project through. Much like simmers in 2014, or the fanbases of InZOI and the dead Life By You. We're discussing an indie game made by a small team that is self-publishing, while the others had the backing of corporation and shareholders.
No need to be mad. What you've described is more commonplace in mainstream game developement. This game is indie. The fact that you ignore their minimum known income of 40k/month and the fact that it has supplemented this team to dedicate themselves to this project mutes what you've claimed here.
Oh Waffle, I can tell you right now that your resort to petty insult hasn't changed when you know you're wrong. I admire your dedication though. If only you put that dedication toward the education of success stories, you'd be able to understand the success this team already has.
Passion projects only require the passion and the time. And if you'd like a little math, Paralives Patreon has consistently made about $40,000/month for years now, has 19.7k contributors. If all of them buy the game, that's over 3/4 of $1 Million. For a small, indepent dev team, they're set.
Devoloping games costs more time than it does money. Especially devs that do not have the pressure of corporate publishers or shareholders. Let's use ConcernedApe for an example. Do you think that man spent more money than time on Stardew Valley? And do you think he cared about its success?
This is a passion project, not a corporate cash grab. But I digress.
