Nintendo appears to have posted a screenshot from an unreleased version of the game on the My Nintendo news website.

The Battle icon has a Bob-omb in the screenshot. In the current public version of Mario Kart World, it only has a coin and balloon.

I was aware that certain tiles have different walking animations/speeds (like loading zones), but it never clicked for me that this would apply to overworld tiles as well

It’s MUCH easier to tell in-game rather than by this clip, but I just realized that the stair tiles in FRLG change your speed to simulate uneven terrain. I feel like I noticed this in the original but shrugged it off as unintentional/area loading weirdness. I wonder if this applies everywhere.

I’m so happy people are able to play FRLG, these are some of my favorite GBA titles

naming conventions are funny bc i have always referred to touko as first name-last name but the others do not sound natural like that to me
