Today is a reminder that before we are Democrats or Republicans, we are Americans.
We share a common destiny—and we must work together to protect our democracy, our freedoms, and each other. 🇺🇸 #FL27 #IndependenceDay #StrongerTogether
#VoteHellNo
I am urging Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar to vote NO on Trump’s ‘dumbass budget bill! It slashes Medicaid, adds $3.3T to deficit, and weaponizes gov’t against Hispanics & immigrants. Bad for FL-27, bad for America! #VoteHellNo
”Alligator Alcatraz” is cruel, inhumane, and won’t fix immigration. We’re better than this; uphold due process and treat everyone humanely in the USA.
Trump's Iran strikes: A dangerous echo of Bush's Iraq war? My latest substack questions Trump's unilateral action, especially when his own DNI says Iran isn't building nukes. Congress MUST step up and reclaim its war powers.

No matter the purpose of the mission, or its success, the solemn decision to engage in war must always reside with the deliberative body of Congress, reflecting the will of the nation.
3) This Juneteenth, we reflect on the continued work that lies ahead to ensure justice and freedom are a reality for every American citizen.
2) This pivotal moment arrived a full two and a half years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Let us not forget the profound significance of this day, nor the protracted journey toward fulfilling the promise of liberty for all within our nation.
1) Today, we commemorate Juneteenth. It stands as a stark reminder of our nation's enduring struggle for true equality and justice. June 19th, 1865, marks the day when the enslaved people of Galveston, Texas, finally received the long-overdue news of their freedom.
Look, on Iran, this is a complex situation. But frankly, it's outrageous the President thinks he can just launch wars on his own. Congress needs to grow a backbone and reassert its constitutional duty!
Miami's No Kings Rally on Saturday saw an impressive display of civic engagement. Under the Florida sun, a large and passionate group of people gathered to exercise their First Amendment right to peaceably assemble in defense of democracy. I was honored to be among them.

Saturday, June 14

I urge everyone participating to do so in a peaceful manner. Please allow law enforcement to carry out their duties without any engagement or interference. Furthermore, let's ensure that outside agitators do not succeed in creating a spectacle.
Join me tomorrow for the No Kings Rally in Miami. As we exercise our First Amendment rights, let us remember the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals."
I hope that you will join me tonight!
A society where even a US Senator can be detained merely for asking questions is a society where no one's right to free expression is guaranteed.
ICE doesn't really care if you're actually a citizen. I want to help clarify what you might need to have with you to help prove you are a US citizen. Check the link below.

Under a Trump administration, not even US citizens are safe from ICE raids. Watch the latest episode of the podcast ft.

It was a pleasure to sit down with @therickwilson.bsky.social at @lincolnproject.us and talk about the need for leadership, representation and fighting for the people of #FL27.
Trump's actions are not about genuine public safety – they are about stoking fear. Fear of communities who are simply demanding their inherent dignity and the due process guaranteed to all. Protest is not the enemy.

When your base warns that your mass-deportation campaign is “unjust,” it’s clear: this isn’t policy-it’s fear mongering. Families, not criminals, are being torn apart.

I was happy to see that Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL 27) sent her staff to Key Biscayne yesterday. Hopefully the next step will be making it so that her constituents can actually speak to a human being when they call her local office for assistance.
I feel fortunate to have had the chance to get a first hand look at the actual Constitution and Bill of Rights. Good reminder to Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar that Article Three of the Constitution establishing the judicial branch of the federal government does in fact exist.
