βSo far, the most energetic opposition has come not from civic leaders but from everyday citizens, showing up at Congressional town hall meetings or participating in Hands Off rallies across the country.
βOur leaders must follow their example.β

The religious parents at the heart of Mahmoud v Taylor claim they're fighting for their freedom of religion. But when you look closer, what they're really asking for is a book ban by another name.

If you have opinions about what the MAGA regime is doing to Judge Dugan, make sure your senators and reps hear them. Fine to leave a voicemail after hours, i.e. right now.
Sen Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc)on Trump making Judge Dugan his first US citizen political prisoner: "By relentlessly attacking the judicial system, flouting court orders, and arresting a sitting judge, this President is putting those basic Democratic values that Wisconsinites hold dear on the line"
HAPPENING NOW: Protests continue outside a courthouse in downtown Milwaukee in support of Judge Hannah Dugan after her arrest today
It seems like when you write a decision giving the President king-like powers, you shouldn't be indignant when he acts like a king.
congratulations to john roberts who is as responsible for the current state of affairs as any single person in the country
How am I doing?
Well my list of Stardew Valley mods is now 7 pages long, so. I've been better.
I thought I'd share the first one I put together today. Working on the Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmation campaign will truly be one of the highlights of my career. A huge shout out to everyone who worked on that effort - it was truly unforgettable. https://www.megsimons.com/projects/confirm-kbj
As I'm updating my portfolio, I've been creating project pages - places where I could show the full breadth and depth of the work I did around specific topics or moments. It's giving me the opportunity to appreciate the work I did, the people I got to work with, and what we created together.
If they can erase some of us, they can erase any of us. Do NOT let this go. Call your senators. Call the White House. Write letters. Make sure our voice is louder than their attempts to silence us. www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news...
A weird thing I've noticed: A lot of the stock photos that depict the actual violence of January 6th are no longer available on many of the photo licensing platforms I use.
Have any other digital folks noticed this? It feels....weirdly significant.
This is way too real.
Stop giving Trump the benefit of the doubt. He doesn't deserve it, and it doesn't serve our communities.
The fight for our courts isn't just federal. This is a great primer on the state supreme court races to pay attention to this year from @democracydocket.com!
The fury is so real. Seeing all of the statements about Matt Gaetz's nomination and they're all so focused on his threat to democracy (which is real) - but very, very few mentioned the sexual abuse allegations against him. It's mind-boggling.
Me every time a new person is announced on that manβs team.
