yessssssssss. finally some good news <3
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I've just released Regenerator 2000 v0.7.0 with MCP Server support.
I've tested it with Claude Code and Gemini CLI and got impressive results: multi-line comments, good labels, etc.

Guess the video game and/or the name of this character ?

The RPi is running a custom program I wrote using @ricardoquesada.bsky.social's bluepad32 to handle the Bluetooth and game controller link, then feeds the button presses over the Photo! link protocol.
Updated the algorithm to trace the pixels. Easier to embroider 16bit sprites, but still a lot of room for improvement. #embroidery #retrogaming #outrun
Embroidering Le Chuck: all the details, things to pay attention, colors, things that could go wrong, etc:

T-shirt is ready. Just in time for vintage computer festival. #embroidery #retrocomputing #retrogaming
WIP. One of the most lovable characters of the 90s. Can you guess the video game? #embroidery #retrogaming
And here are the details of how I did it:

Guess the video game.
I used 11 colors. Had to simplify the original image. So far, I like the result. #embroidery #retrogaming
work in progress. #embroidery #retrogaming #streetfigther
Gun Fight (arcade, 1975) as embroidery in two t-shirts.
I like representing a video game in two t-shirts.
First time using linen: good. But don't use fusible stabilizer with it!
Details here:

Collage of C64 game images from variuous stages of development
We've started development on Return of Fury 2 for the #c64 ! Milestone 1 is close, so I wrote up a little introduction on what's been going on.
This is how I created the machine-embroidery angler fish with the blinking LED.

With the blinking LED.
Hey, I'm a Fashion Engineer now :)
Angel Fish
- 3188 pixels
- 64804 stitches
- 7 colors
- Blinking LED
End-to-End total time: ~7 hours. From doing the design (Gemini), to hooping, machine-embroidery, circuit + cables

Another Impossible Mission variation:
- Bigger pixels.
- Rays done with metallic thread (looks very nice in person)
- different hero sprite.
- "Nothing here"
32226 stitches.

Q*Bert
Any Q*Bert fan around here ?
- ~34k stitches
- 6 colors
- pixel size: 5.5mm
- pull compensation: 0.25
Total stitch time: ~2 hours

I love the sprite from "BC II: Grog's revenge"
Went to a coffee shop in Pescadero, CA (e.g: in the middle of nowhere), and the had a B.C comic book.
And guess what ? I was my B.C's T-Shirt (the one I embroidered a few days ago).
Coincidence ? I don't think so.
The Gods are telling me something ๐

Another classic: Space Invaders.
Trying two new things:
- 8mm pixels for the logo
- 1.3mm pixels for the font
I like the end result. However, I should increase the pull compensation for bigger pixels. And perhaps try 1.5mm fonts.

Another Pacman variation. #pacman #embroidery #retrogaming
A classic this time.
Forgot to add the topping, but I like the result very much (much better in person)
So happy that I created an editor that defines the path, pixel size and other variables. So easy/fast to create the file for the embroidery machine.
#pacman #retrogaming #embroidery
Used "pull compensation" of 0.25mm.
Needle: 90/14
Stabilizers: double. No-show mesh fusible
I liked the end result... except that it is not totally centered... perhaps one cm to the right.

How the editor looks:
I've been working on a "Pixel Embroidery" editor.
Has some nice features like the "Partition Editor" and "multiple layers". Impossible with my previous script.
Thanks to the "Partition Editor" I was able to reduce the "jump stitches" to a minimum.
