I decided to ask a bunch of #Berlin friends to recommend the art that has moved them 2025 and I'm compiling it into a zine for them. Exhibitions, music, podcasts, books, TV, films, experiences - whatever has made our years a joy. A guidebook for the #Berlin #Mycelial.
Cheers! Not been on here in quite a while, only just remembered to check in. Thanks for remembering me! How are you doing?
Looking for a pack of quirky, fine art-based Christmas cards? My Christmas cards bloke has just reminded me we've still got these on sale and I haven't mentioned them at all this yearβ¦

You're an odd fish
Philomena Cunk against a collection of classical statues. "Antigone's death is even more tragic than it actually is, which makes her a tragic hero"
Philomena Cunk looking thoughtful. "Goya continued to paint tapestries until 1792 when serious illness left him dead for life"
Philomena Cunk looking thoughtfully into the distance. "Society is slowly becoming more contemporary now"
Philomena Cunk looking into camera on a beach. "Diderot's Tahiti represents a typical male fantasy in which attractive young women are eager to engage in sexual activity with the French"
@gralefrit.bsky.social You have to see these! A friend of mine has been collating a series of images entitled "Things my students have written turned into Philomena Cunk quotes" and they're just glorious.
Is it maybe time to promote @christhebarker.bsky.social's starter pack of WHIMSY again? I THINK IT IS
Woke up to an astounding number of new followers β hello everyone! How did you arrive here?

Happy birthday Mike!
It's International Owl Awareness Day!
Lots of bog owls (AKA short-eared owls) live around us. Last year a group of 7 or 8 of them flew up from the road ahead of us. And then this happened...
Innit! One of the things that made us fall in love with this place.
Can almost see Slit from our bedroom window, it's down... there!
Back left-hand corner. Did you have a stall too? Didn't spot your zine, but I was half asleep π
Forgive me pushing my zines again, we are into the final hurdle and they're almost all gone :). They're Β£10 (including postage - UK only I'm afraid) and feature lots of beautifully romantic ruins crumbling away in the North Pennines.

Ordered! I spy several places (Groverake, Slit Mine, Sikehead, ...) within walking distance of our house.
This still makes more sense than ever other "American makes cup of tea" video I've ever seen.
Last time I was there (25+ years ago), we were in a box, throwing rolls at the people below. I'm not proud. Mind you, the only alternative was to watch the cricket π
My uncle wrote a lovely piece about working with Benny:

(I keep urging him to write a book of his reminiscences, he has so many good stories from the golden age of British TV, and he's a great writer)
