Hello again! Hm

Deepseek, z.ai, qwen are some of the Chinese ones…

Yeah it’s shocking bc it’s so easy to not use it. I’m surprised when people use it for simple things and get the wrong answers and then keep on using it as they did before. I suppose the pandemic and online brainrot and posttruth politics helped to accelerate this but like wtf…it’s easy not to use

In the dune universe, the story (I’m not a dunehead, so grain of salt) take/ place after the butlerian jihad, where people had a revolution against β€œthinking machines”. There’s a tshirt design that says β€œbutlerian jihad now” that’s been out for a couple of years that I always think about…

Yeah i mean the cat’s outta the bag, which is why I think a lot of people are hoping for a bubble burst to β€œget back” at the companies. But people are still gonna use gen ai afterwards, esp the Chinese models imo

Sometimes i read more moderate takes of AI boosters who are trying to make it out like it’s some kind of necessity but like…beyond helping a few experts with tedious tasks, the pros are just not as significant as the cons. And the people who think otherwise are deluded and coping and cringey as hell

Thank you!

Yeah I don’t think people want to be inconvenienced, and most other countries don’t wanna be inconvenienced, too!

Maybe the Bugonia ending could really come true…don’t get me fantasizing

The entrelac blanket is done! I haven’t measured it or blocked it yet (so that it hangs nicely), but it’s a large lap blanket

I watched this when you put up some movies awhile ago. It was really good, and thank you! Due for a re-watch…

Red shouldered hawk…god is good. I don’t want the sun to explode just yet or maybe just for humans

Good job. It really does feel vulnerable turning stuff that you’re not sure is β€œright”, and it takes willpower to turn that in and be Judged :)

Nicely done!

Oh like β€œre-trellising” or β€œdoing a redo on the trellis.” I’m not sure β€œtrellising” is an official word, but people use to mean that they put up a trellis

Getting better at sketching with my animation class. I do hope I pass this class (seen some people who go through it 3x, but I think most people give up on class 1), but I guess it’s okay if I don’t since I do see improvement in my what I’ve learned, so I don’t think I’m hopeless

I think I’ve learned everything about Larry Summers I could so far, but I need to know more about how idiotic & awful he is because I need to confirm my beliefs that people are created stupid and also equal which is why we shouldn’t have god-kings and why I should steward trees, make endless stews,

Drawing of Gregg Turkington by Atom Ellis I saw a couple of days ago. It was really crazy how there was no title or anything, and I just knew it was him. For some reason I posted this on Reddit on a throwaway account too

Man it’s crazy when people try to be funny and it’s not purely a coping mechanism of any kind

No I think that it’s pretty normal unless you think they might feel weird or shy about it (probably not if they have public ig), and they might not follow back (depends)

The future being pushed by both AI boosters and educational censors is one where access to information is tightly controlled. Children will not be allowed to read certain books or learn certain narratives. β€œResearch” will be performed only through one of a select few artificial intelligence tools owned by AI giants which are uniformly aligned behind the Trump administration and which have gone to the ends of the earth to prevent their black box machines from spitting out β€œwoke” answers lest they catch the ire of the administration. School boards and library boards, forced to comply with increasingly restrictive laws, funding cuts, and the threat of being defunded entirely, leap at the chance to be considered forward looking by embracing AI tools, or apply for grants from government groups like the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which is increasingly giving out grants specifically to AI projects.

Once you start thinking of AI as a war on humanity, on human thought, on human inquiry, on human labor, on nuance and critical thinking, it slots in pretty seamlessly with the right wing ideological project, oligarchical political projects, big tech's political projects, etc
