Who doesn't love a good "what if" scenario in retirement planning? π

New Feature Dropped!
I've had the same thoughts about this lately too. As a senior dev, I've only really started using AI in earnest in maybe the last 3 months. And it's definitely amazing at creating slightly suspicious boilerplate haha.
ngl, it's also lightning fast at simply *reading* a stacktrace error, which helps
Add EconoMe in Cincinnati to that list! Though, no one on this platform talks about that one.
π
Do I spot a fairyfloss theme in that IDE? β€οΈ
FWIW, This project is on a stack of #sveltejs #sveltekit #python #django #djangorestframework along with Auth0 for Oauth2.
cFIREsim's successor (WIP, not released in any way), a financial/retirement planner that simulates outcomes.
I have it handling account types, taxes, the concept of people attached to those things, etc.
UI is tough for me, and I'm consolidating outputs, but it's coming along.
I remember meeting a few people at a conference that I had regularly interacted on social media with. They recognized me, but I paused and was like "hold up, let me look at your profile pic to connect the dots in my brain..." π
A direct line of laws that allows for arresting trans people without cause. I believe P2025 has a "porn ban" that checks that box.
We're privileged to have the means to leave, but are hesitant to uproot our kids.
I have a large user-base on a free tool, and I've been rewriting the entire thing into a much more complicated and useful tool, in hopes of monetizing. But I haven't been able to get it across the finish line... Hiring would be nice, but not an option.
I need stories of bootstrapping π
I've literally been thinking of reaching out to ask you this question. I've always been curious of people who hired before revenue was big, so I guess that's not you lol
This is the kind of post I can get behind these days. Tell me more, my guy. Is this a chuck roast? Are you making stew?
Looks delicious. β€οΈ
In the podcasts that I've done, I've always just assumed there would be video π π
This is a good reminder...
I'm trying to prepare my family, but also stay sane here, so be kind.
It's general Christians (80s/90s) vs. Evangelicals (n*zi flavored) today. Is it the ideology that feel more dangerous, or the fact that we had gained back rights that are now being taken... vs never having them in the past.
I'm trying really hard to balance my doomscrolling with introspection, historical review, and optimism.
I'm too young (ha) to remember the impacts, but does all of this *waves hands wildly* feel objectively worse than anti-gay things in the 80s/90s?

"racist against ranch" is not a phrase I thought I'd ever hear lol
I did just that! Just for a side project, and it wasn't even finished yet. But still π
I feel like they'd be like some sort of mad hatter type of fae...
I probably just need to mute more words on social media.
That's something! Ace is actually the place I had the most pleasant experience changing my name.
They checked my number, and I asked to change the name... for reasons, and the girl was like "Ugh, yeah, get YOUR name on that account, not your husband".
I wasn't gonna argue, and smiled.
Is it possible to foster community on an online platform without being subjected to the constant stream of horrors going on in the world?
I'm scared for the future, am trying to limit my exposure to awful shit, but also like to interact with people ...
I'm a (primarily) backend developer who has done frontend things all day.
It is tiring π
#sveltejs #python #django
This feels like an eminently useful, thorough and objective summary of the research. Itβs so important to understand how marginalised people are excluded- so we donβt fall into that same trap.
I remember clearly - in UK - when βhomosexualsβ were routinely assumed to be a threat to children.
Because you can kiss a hundred boys in bars.
Shoot another shot, try to stop the feeling?
