If we want better artists and musicians, we need to stop gatekeeping and start at least giving advice to help those people

This kind of double standard really discourages people from trying new things, and it sucks. when people attempt to do something new, of course it won't be good the first time. It takes trial and error for the person to eventually improve from experience

What’s ironic is that when those same people try new things themselves, suddenly, that standard and criticism doesn’t apply. They expect praise, not feedback, and a lot of cases they rarely accept it themselves,

Lately, I’ve been noticing how quick people are to judge when someone’s genuinely trying to improve. As soon as you take a risk, try something new and hope for feedback. Instead, you just get mocked. Not giving any advice, just plainly flat out being judgemental without explaining how to improve
