‘Publicly available’ = stolen.
Professors have ‘fans’? Ugh.
Thanks! It was nice to meet you. Yes, I remember Andy. Seeing him get work with Sounds was one of the things that made me think I could do it too.
Fun night talking Erics, scouse self-Mythologising pop star types and how to dress like a punk with scene chronicler @pennykiley.bsky.social quizzed by @nndroid.bsky.social

London friends, please come and see me and @nndroid.bsky.social chatting about my new book tomorrow night.
Me at Radio Merseyside.
BBC Radio Merseyside looks a bit different from when I used to visit the Paradise Street studios.
See you later!
Looking forward to this!
Never mind 50 years of punk. Here's 50 years of Bagpuss.
I know I say this fairly often: people are right to complain concerts are too expensive, but they got that way because a lot of artists started to make almost no money out of their actual records. We have to look really hard at how we pay for music.
Guest blog on milestones that happened later in life, as well as "punk rock, Liverpool and trying to be normal" - the themes of my new book. www.advantagesofage.com/p/atypical-g...
Important thread.
March 19 we’ll be @ GulpFiction to hear our very own @pennykiley.bsky.social talk about how she found her niche reporting on a rebellious new music scene in a rebellious city. Thanks @theoxfordmail.bsky.social for the write up.Everyone welcome. Journalism is fab! www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2588694...

Thank you!
Great to see that @pennykiley.bsky.social's memoir #AtypicalGirl is coming out. We had an excellent chat about Penny's career and music choices on my textcast #FirstLastAnything in the summer of 2023, and you can read it here. firstlastanything.co.uk/2025/05/20/f...
I watched The Fabelmans last night. The message I took away was the importance of editing. Yours, an editor.
OK, this was probably the first time I heard a Neil Sedaka song. Sedaka was an excellent songwriter, but Cassidy was cuter! youtu.be/Q5fPDYPk8YE?...
Books: Enshittification by Cory Doctorow, This Ain’t Rock’n’Roll by Daniel Rachel, Seascraper by Benjamin Wood, Everything We Do Is Music by Elizabeth Alker
Book: The Nine by Gwen Strauss
Books read in February. I'm trying to read all the books on the Penderyn Music Book Prize longlist. Front runner so far (apart from Budgie's) is Everything We Do is Music by Elizabeth Alker. I learnt new things and it made me want to listen to the music she was describing.
I hope so! And thank you.
Want a sneak preview of my memoir Atypical Girl (out next week)? There's one on my latest Substack. This is the pic they used for the book cover - me aged 20. I think that T-shirt is still in the loft.

"This is Manchester. We do things differently here." Nice to see a line penned by @frankcottrellboyce.bsky.social in the new Manchester MP's speech. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...
OK. Couldn't resist.
Lovely review by Julianne Regan.
In two weeks:Tuesday 10 March

Spent the last few days reading @pennykiley.bsky.social's memoir Atypical Girl. It's about punk, post-punk & Liverpool. But its also about quietness, grief & a sense of frustration (sometimes turned inwards). I liked it a lot
Thank you for that very thoughtful response.
Did you read the interview in the Guardian mag recently? He is way more scary than F*rage.
