There's so many interesting looking games coming out next year... Only one problem. They're all UE5.

Can we please normalize not using UE5 as the industry standard when all it's achieving is making every game look the same, and it runs like crap.

To those interested, the announcement made within the S4 Discord;

I own some responsibility in noting your name with regards to the issues of our feeling unwelcome, and I know now that it wasn't because of anything you'd done. It was because of his influence in the background, and it's clear to me that you had little to no idea it'd been going on.

In their announcement they took responsibility for a lot, for everything really, and that's a big thing for a person to do, especially in times like these.

With that said, Strawbs, if you see this. Thank you for working to make S4 a better place. I'm sorry you've also had to go through all of this.

My hopefully final statement;

Last night it was brought to my attention that @strawbs.tv had made a public statement that cleared up a lot for me. It showed a genuine person understandably wanted nothin more than to see the best in everyone, and be blinded by their true intentions in turn.

When everything came to light it had unfortunately confirmed my suspicions, that something was very, very wrong. I'm thankful to this day that I trusted my gut and told him "no." I'm uneasy even thinking about what could have happened if I allowed him that much authority over such a large community.

He couldn't accept the fact that I wouldn't, as the lead admin, give my word to make him an admin as well. He tried of several occasions to sway the owners, but was met by my shutting him down each time as something felt off, and I didn't trust him with that power.

For taking responsibility over what their teams had done, even if they weren't fully aware of what had been happening or weren't in the position they are now at that time - as for Farin. His ego has always been a plague. When he had tried to become staff for the server I primarily work for

I've also spoken in depth with other community leaders, as I was responsible for the original exposé; it had been reported to me when everything was happening, so I was ground zero.

Many of those leaders have more than made up for the actions of their now-late staff, and I appreciate them like hell

I agree entirely. Some community leaders responsible for the whole ordeal are ones I will avoid totally. They have burned every ounce of trust they ever had with me, especially a specific one whom I won't name again; I've shame and flamed them enough for their part in the matter.

I can't say I believe he ever showed true remorse; when all of this initially went down it wasn't even a day after his exposé that he took refuge in the Rexorium main server, then leaked his way into the DJing sphere. Within a week of the issue, we were threatened into silence.

Context is definitely a powerful thing in regards to individuals like Dusk/Farin.

I'm glad you were able to find further information, and I cannot fully blame you for believing in someone's ability to change;

What he's done, in his lying and deception, his actions with a minor, his weaponizing of communities to silence his victims and run out those who knew what he'd done. It's utterly reprehensible. There is no redemption from that.

He was "open" about what he'd done, but as noted by some he's spoken with, he downplayed his part in the matter to seem favorable, and succeeded for these last 3 years.

Save for his explicit acts of pedophilia, no amount of taking accountability can alleviate the borderline pathological lying.

He hid behind several alts, purposely made announcements that were, in his own words, purposeful misinformation to rend the victim of credibility.
He may say he has remorse for what he had done, but his actions say otherwise. The remorse only exists for his being caught in the act.

I'd flame you for a few things, but you've noted that a lot of your information is off record.

Showing remorse ≠ twisting the story to be seen as utterly innocent, as he had done.
Showing remorse ≠ blackmailing the victim into silence.
Showing remorse ≠ leveraging power to silence others.

Your first and immediate statement was that things feel boring and repetitive. Comparatively I'd taken a near full-season break, coming back for EoF I've been having a decent amount of fun. People like to compare D1 & D2, then complain about progression when what we have is just the same as D1 had.
