I don't think this is going to change anyone's mind but Neil Young endorsing a corporate banker for Prime Minister is a thing that happened today.

I finally got to see her in concert in 2022 at McCabe's in Santa Monica, which is a delightfully intimate venue. I was so happy, and she gave a wonderful performance.
(Video not from McCabe's but this is still a lovely song)

Sir John Soaneβs Museum is amazing.
This brings a tear the the eye of this aging punk rocker.
I played with the Dead Kennedy's at their first gig in Canada.
Their anthem Nazi Punks F--- Off caused bedlam.
I like this song better.
This is gutting. Outside was one of the main reasons I wanted to be a magazine journalist

Oh this is just *delightful*: for the opening of his documentary on the history of music on SNL, Questlove produced βa high-speed, six-minute DJ mix of SNL music highlightsβ. So good youβll want to watch it way more than just once. [kottke.org]

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike
A linguistics professor was lecturing his class. "In English, a double negative is a positive. In some languages, like Russian, a double negative is still a negative. But, there is no language wherein a double positive can be a negative."
A voice from the back of the room piped up, "Yeah, right."
In the midst of one of the most gruesome periods of modern human history, whales experienced a rare moment of peace.
Now, a long-forgotten post-war museum collection is revealing how the slaughter has literally been etched into the very fibers of those whales.

This image from NASAβs James Webb Space Telescope shows a portion of the Leo P dwarf galaxy (stars at lower right represented in blue). Leo P is a star-forming galaxy located about 5 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. A team of scientists collected data from about 15,000 stars in Leo P to deduce its star formation history. They determined that it went through three phases: an initial burst of star formation, a βpauseβ that lasted several billion years, and then a new round of star formation that is still continuing.
Stunning new image from the James Webb Space Telescope offers a timely reminder that there is so much beauty to be found in this universe, if we look for it.
The photographer Han Youngsoo, whose photographs chronicle the postwar transformation of mid-century Seoul, sought to create an archive of working-class society that was unembellished, yet respectful and humanistic.
